I always take a request for validation as a compliment.

While we are on this subject could we please remind the viewers to vote on the worth of the image even if they think it is illegal.

Thanks

I guess I'm getting off pretty lucky, I've never had a (knock on woood) "validation request" yet. I would still think that it should be taken as a compliment though.!

Im my submission on movies titles, I got 9--> 1s. And I don 't think that it was a that bad shot or DNMC in any way (2001: Space Odyssey)
At the same time I got a DQ request

I think there is an obvious explanation for the 1s I got! And be sure that 9 (1s) is a personal score!

I too agree that having your image validated can help an image in votes. In fact I have submitted for prevalidation on a couple of occasions in hope that my image would have that statement below it so that voters would know that it is legit and vote based on the image and not whether or not they thought it was.

That "This image has been validated" message is not displayed during voting any more, is it? I thought they quit doing that specifically for the issue that it affects voting - at least I haven't seen one in a very long time.

For example, I can recall people requesting proof on shots of various landmarks because they live nearby and noticed something in the shot that may not have belonged there during the submission timeframe.

I can attest to that. I'm still looking for the person who ratted me out on this one...

I think I remember that one. You added the street lamp in in post-processing, didn't you?

I just want to say that what I said earlier makes absolutely no sense at all. I know better than to come home and post messages on DP Challenge after a night of drinking, but I did it anyway.

Oh, what a rough night, soju, beer, and long island iced teas. What a rougher morning!

Sorry for rambling on about something that was idiotic!

I am good Joe. How are you doing? I am in the final month of my tour in Korea so have been busy with getting everything ready to move. Pretty soon I will be freezing my behind in Greenland, and a year after that, defrosting it in Hawaii.
