So, if you guys look through my portfolio, you will see that often I get comments such as "too dark" and the like. If used to be worse before. I've improved however I still get the comment sometimes.
Now, when working on my MAC, i often boost my exposure because, when taking pics with my studio flashes, it's always a shot in the dark (i don't have a light meter) Now often on my mac screen it looks great and then I send it off to friends and they tell me it's toooo dark!!! I figured my BRIGHTNESS is too high (it's maxed out). How bright should my screen be? Half way? 3/4?

| You should get a screen calibrater and that should handle your issues. |

You should calibrate your monitor with a hardware calibration device like the EyeOne Display, Spider, etc..
In general, LCDs are inherantly too bright, and if you have your brightness turned up all the way, you are pretty much guaranteed that it is WAY too bright.
For reference, with hardware calbration, my monitor is at 33% brightness. |

Apple in the top left corner, System Preferences, Display, Color, Calibrate. The program is in your Mac already.
