Hey,
so I'm looking for a set of studio lights and have heard some really good things about the alien bees sets. Would those of you who have pictures using them please post a picture, which kit you have and then general set up for the shot. I'm deciding between the kits and just need to see what you guys have acomplished with those lights.
On a side note if anyone else has studio lights with a 700 dollar or under budget you can post those as well.

thanks in advance for your help

I have two SB-800's with brollies. Not sure what you're wanting to shoot with them, but here are a few that I have used my lights on.

I also use them for the group shots at weddings and they do very well lighting up large groups.

These were taken at a Girl Scout Mother Daughter Banquet.
I used 2 SB800's. Each roughly 45 degree off center left and right with umbrellas and one Sigma speedlight to light the background.
Sigma speed light was setting on the boxes and hidden behind the top box.

I have this package and I love it... almost all the people photos in my portfolio use them.

Also note that the AB packages are not set in stone--you can customize them. AB will cut a percentage off accessories bought at the same time as lights (the more lights you buy, the bigger the percentage).

I have 3-400's, 1 medium foldable octabox, 1 white/black shoot through/reflecting umbrella, 1 silver reflecting umbrella, 3 wireless receivers, 1 wireless transmitter, 2-13' stands, and 2-10' stands.

I will search my stuff to see if any were lit with AB's. I need to get my family/maternity/newborn shots up!

Will post details on setups after lunch!
Key light-above eye level, camera right, angled down with octabox; fill light-eye level, camera left with shoot through umbrella. Maybe a 2:1 ratio in the first shot, closer to 1:1 in the second.

Most of the photos in my portfolio are done in studio with various combinations of up to three AB 800W and modifiers. Most photos' notes include setup info. The one below is a different use of lighting arrangements, details in the notes.
