I need a bag that is comfortable for everything from roaming crowds at concerts, hiking, weddings, etc...

I have the lowepro trekker and really hate it. It holds all my gear, but its bulky and poorly balanced and the tripod straps suck. Its only good because it holds a ton of stuff.

I was at a private party the other night, Higher Grounds 10yr Anniversary. Vermonters will know what that is. Its a music venue, and the press photog had a great system so I wondered if anyone else has any personal experience with it. I would love to hear pros and cons because it is kind of pricey.

Here is a link.

They look like Batman's utility belt - pretty cool but personally I'd rather hang a secondary body and lens around my neck for rapid access rather than a system like that.

I have Lowepro's MicroTrekker (I think):

It's small but big enough to carry enough gear for most shoots, nicely weighted high and mid back, good supports, hard wearing. Not waterproof...only downside...

I see lots of people with slingshot-type bags that might be more ideal for quick people/crowd shots where you need quick changes. In reality though, how many lenses would you need in such a situation? A prime (50/85) and a wide fast telephoto (16-35) would be my choice and neither are particularly huge. Alternatively, keep a long lens on one body, and a 16-35 on the backup...and the 50/85 in your pocket...it's small enough...

My 2p from a non-pro :)

I have done the 2 cameras w/ different lenses. its ok, but I always am afraid of banging into things w/ the camera thats not being used.

I don't like carrying lenses in pockets at weddings because Im wearing a suit and it looks funny and ruins the suit. Also, the 85 1.2L is a beast.

I like the belt idea because it shrinks your profile, everything is at your fingertips and as long as it doesn't sag, it supports the weight nicely for all day shooting events. The guy that I saw using it had everything on it, more loaded than I would use and I think a bit of overkill for shooting a concert, but he was cruising around with no problems, squating down, climbing on chairs etc...

It does look like a batman belt which obviously makes it even cooler looking.
