It's been awhile but it must be time for the famous posthumous list of possible subjects for every picture tells a story.
05/01/2008 09:09:36 AM · #278
That would be useful - I'd love to enter that challenge but I'm having difficulty finding a subject.

How are my fellow suckers doing in the Free Study? Mine's going surprisingly well so far...

Stories to take Picture of

An old woman is playing guitar. She has forgotten the third verse.

A little boy throws a walnut at a bluebird, killing it.

A mother starts a canning business. While experimenting with chemicals, she inadvertently discovers a cure for AIDS.

An angry musician throws his flute out the window. As it falls, the air rushing through it plays the melody he has been searching for his whole life.

A divorced couple stay together in their house because they are unable to sell it. She makes him breakfast because it is easier to cook for two.

I am a flautist, actually. But as I live on the third floor, I think I'll pass on that idea ;)

I have an idea for Stories, but will have to be very careful that I don't destroy something very important and valuable in doing so.

Am virtually having orgasms each time I open my front door, my floor is soo fricking BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Oh yeah, Games at 5.1 and Healthy Food at 4.976 or something ridiculous like that.

If I may, I just wanted to share that I am having a great photography day. My FS is doing really well, my photo at JPGmag is still on the hotlist, and today my photo is POTD at betterphoto.com: LINKIE! Now if I can figure out how to translate all this into some type of an occupation I'll be all set :D

Congrats Michelle! And I suspect you could convert it into any occupation you want - art galleries, greeting cards, stock, studio. You're very very good at what you do!

Great accomplishment. Congratulations, and enjoy your new self!

Don't dread it.

Do it for yourself for all the right reasons.

You cannot possibly comprehend at this point how much better you'll feel.

Don't want......DO it.

It's worth it.

Free Study is at 5.5 with 32 votes. Not what I was hoping for, but at least it's not down in the basement with my other entries of late. I have one I love in Story. That's never a good sign.

Oooh Jeanne congrats! I've seen a lot of good results with WW. I probably need something like this too. Just trying to get into my exercise routine first. Anyway, WTG!

I otter know better....

[thumb]675225[/thumb] [thumb]675227[/thumb]

Actually I had no idea that these river otters even existed in my area until I seen this guy and his friend a few weeks ago when I took these photos. Apparently they were looking forward to spring and had opened up a hole in the ice of the pond so they could get from their winter den out onto the ice to enjoy the sunshine. You can see the pieces of the den around the hole.

any advice on this design for a CD cover? it's a jazz duo - they're doing all the jazz etc. standards that feature Do or Don't in the lyrics or title.

JuliBoc I wouldn't be at all surprised if you do very well in the photo that tells a story challenge. You have a great eye for emotive in your photography.

And guess what, guys? I have an all-expense paid photo shoot in Tokyo next week! The photo is to be used in both a Japanese newspaper and the Washington Post. I'm very excited. Goes to show you don't even have to be a real photographer with any training to occasionally have cool stuff pan out!

Wow! Congrats! That is awesome. So do tell - how did this come about and what are you going to be shooting?

Photojournalism of a journalist - a guy who has an expose on the Japanese mafia coming out. Edit to add: it will be a tough shoot, as I have to do it across the street while he is talking to some cops to get the photo they want.
