the underground railway is as safe as there is over here.
you might get the odd drunk / begger / homeless etc late evenings etc, the same as any big city.
the night busses are a different story though, full of wack jobs. i wouldn't suggest them.
you will have the trains up to about half past midnight-ish which shouldn't cause you any problems.

That is what i was thinking. I suppose it depends on what you want to do... handheld should be fine for anything but serious hdr/panos or long exposures (i took some handheld hdr yesterday which turned out ok (not great)). But then people like using tripods anyway - myself included. Question is - are you comfortable lugging a tripod around as part of your gear? I'm already debating whether i should take my large bag and have every option open to me or my sling bag and either compromise or specialise...

I wont be bringing a tripod I do not see there will be any need only for the GTG group photo.

Its going to be a long day so I am travelling light, no tripod or monopod. Camera and a couple of my cheap lenses. The weather forecast, at the moment, is for light showers but that might change as yesterday it was forecast to be sunny !

I won't bring a tripod on the day. Can someone tell me is the New Kings Road anywhere near where we might be going on the day?

This is typical, we have had great weather for the past 2 weeks, and now that a London GTG is looming the weather goes all crappy.. I will turn up out of decency if it is pissing down, but to be honest I am too fed up with crappy weather GTGs so will probably only stay for the morning.. 3 wet GTGs in a row is far too depressing.

However if it is sunny then I wont be so stroppy and will stop throwing my toys out of my pram.

EDIT. Just looked at weather report and it says bright.. so should be OK.

Hey guys. At Singapore Airport at the moment....tired as all crap. I left a cold 24 degree celsius Autumn Day in Brisbane. Am feeling very hot here in Singapore. I have been awake since 5am (19 hours ago)....11 hours already in the air and another 13 to go. Will arrive at Heathrow tomorrow morning at 5-50am London Time.

Had to strip my bags and they made me remove my belt and hairclip before they would let me through security.....sheez!

Don't worry...I didn't pack the whips...you are all safe....or are you!!!!

Looking forward to meeting you all.
