People of my town begins! Last night was manic, a brass band turned up to the bar we were at and started playing along with my mate (playing guitar in my entry). Needless to say the local residents weren't too happy, we got a good 25mins of jamming in before the fuzz showed up though. Non of the shots of the came out that well though, it was all a bit manic. My entry is taken when everything had calmed down a bit and the tripod came out.

Well... as I've joined Judy's thread instead (didn't see it until after), I won't post too many in here, but as I did sign up in here I will throw the first one up an comment on the images here as much as possible! Good luck to all involved, I look forward to seeing what comes out of it.

April 1 Starting out with a rhododendron today.

Edited to add my theme - Whatever the Heck I Feel Like Shooting Today. I am considering doing the whole month with my 60mm macro as a further refinement of said theme. Will keep you posted - may not feel like it. (I am taking this theme to the limit)

Day 1
Oooops. . .I just posted on the other thread. Sorry.
Since I just joined yesterday, I didn't have a chance to go shoot something new yet, so this is one of my favorite outtakes from a recent challenge. Today, I'll get out and try to get some new creatures :)

Just a suggestion - could we post what our theme is for the first few days in addition to the thumbnail? That would save us scrolling back.
04/01/2008 03:11:46 PM · #22
Can I play too? I'm assuming the answer's yes. My theme will be the common, easily overlooked items.
04/01/2008 04:02:47 PM · #23
My theme is "Closely caught" - I'll be working on using my 100mm lens to take a close view of things. I also reserve the right to shoot candids now and then with the twist that I want to get "caught" by the subject so they know I'm taking their picture.

Today's submission(s), which were actually shot today! Pick one or the other (or neither). Since it said "creative choice", I thought I'd be creative and offer you a choice. :-)

Subjects from a Distance - Day 2

I think that these Robber flies are the most lethal insect on the firetrail. They are about 3cm (1") long and feed on fire ants, wasps, bees and even dragonflies.

Still Life in the City - Day 1

I'll get around to some comments later...
