While I realize that some people enjoy sharing images they like with others, this person actually admits that he 'steals' the images... grrrrr

Anyway, there are a lot of beautiful shots on the website, but most do not attribute the works or even link to the posts here on DPC. I've found works by Larus, SandyP, mawear, and a couple more. Unfortunately, the way they list the images makes it difficult to retrace their locations. Everyone feel free to browse, and share the location of shots you recognize from DPC. We have the right to protect our works, and should consider it a responsibility as photographers to inform others when they violate those rights. Thanks for listening!

ETA - THESE IMAGES MAY SIMPLY BE 'HOTLINKED', AND MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADED, BUT THE PROPER CREDIT IS STILL MISSING!

Billy

Stolen images on this site: PixDaus.com

links to some of the stolen ones:

... mawear's stolen work ... Larus' stolen work
... Qart's stolen work ... jblaylockrayner's stolen work
... nikolaos' stolen work ... TOY's
... HighNooner's ... Librodo's stolen work
... Breeee123's stolen work ... jmseltzer's stolen work
... ...Scalvert's stolen work ... SandyP's stolen work
... Yanko's stolen work

ok, i KNOW there are more, and will post more as I find them

Isn't there a way to prevent upload off of the site?
03/18/2008 01:34:56 PM · #4
I'm still looking for SandyP's image, and I also need some help identifying whose image this one is:

ETA - thanks to AndyMac (below), for the help finding another image's owner :)

anyone?

note to self: link = whose image?

Thx for the PM rossbilly, I´ll look into it.

I know that this will not solve the issue but I really wish that DPC would enable users to block "right clicking" on their images. I know that doesn´t stop anyone determined as they can still take screenshots but a whole heck of a lot of people do not know how to take screenshots so this would most definately stop a lot of it. I know I would restrict right clicking on my images if I had the choice.

I second Laruson that!

Larus, you're more than welcome

Andy, thanks for YOUR help too

Maybe disabling the right-click feature is one of the site updates being worked? If nothing else, couldn't it be setup that right-click is enabled ONLY on one's own images (when you are logged in)?

::sigh:: oh well - glad we can help watch out for each other :)

There is a disclaimer onthe bottom of the page for anyone affected.

Pretty nasty comments on that site. The recent second place winner of the dog on the beack by Dougi555 is also there.

I'm taking a quick look through Escoba's "portfolio". It looks like a DPC best of. I've recognized at least 10 shots so far, and that was on the first two pages (out of 37).

edit to add: just found one of mine on page 3. Was originally titled "Smoke Signals". Escobar has retitled it: "Sex" how original!

found these too:

nshapiro
jessy_pesce
zoomdak
scalvert
roba

I'm sure there are more. these were on Escoba's portfolio

Glad you've found yours, Steve! :)

It isn't that I'm trying to skip anyone, or even that I didn't recognize the image... but I'm already on page 8 of 37, and haven't even seen that one. The way they 'list' the images is random, and it can be difficult to re-locate them :(

Thanks to everyone who is pitching in!

I have to wonder though... this person has obviously spent a LOT of time doing this - - - maybe we could politely inform him of the infractions & ask if he'd mind giving proper credit? THEN, if he doesn't 'get it', send in Art with un grande torch!

Your opinions?

The above is a quote from one of the members of "pixdaus"
It seems that the site is set up for the sole purpose of "admiring" images others have posted on the internet.
The part I put in bold below just annoys me to no end! How can they justify direct downloads from URL's!?

From the site's FAQ:

Q: I see here my photo but I didn't post it! How this could happen? Would you remove it?
A: Just send a removal notice to remove (AT) pizdaus.com and it would be removed. Sometimes people post things and don't know the exact copyrights, we ask not to do this and remove as soon as someone complain.

It will be interesting to see how quickly they act once some of the DPC photographers notify the site of the infingements.
03/18/2008 03:07:41 PM · #19
Also from the FAQ:

Q: What does 'flag it' do?
A: When someone sees something that can't fit this site, like erotics, violence or other forbidden stuff he can press 'flag it' and the picture is going on hold untill the trusted user would check it for being right or not on the special 'flagged' page.

(Bold mine.)
I wonder if this means that an image is hidden until verified?

BTW, if you're feeling nasty and want to press those +/- buttons more than once...all you need to do is Shift + reload page and you can vote again, and again, and again.... ;)

I reported 6 of my images to them last week. Within an hour they sent me an email saying they had removed them. And they did.

No please.... It solves nothing and I have a lot of stuff on my right click menu that destroys the browsing experience (like EXIF reader, colour pickers e.t.c.). Plus I use back/forward a bit from that menu, so I have to hover off an image to get it to work... it's just annoying. If you can just remove the save image as from the right click then fine but it ain't the way it works.

I requested removal of a couple of pics this morning and they are gone. Just went through the rest of the pages and found a couple more and just put in a request to have them removed. But his portfolio is mostly made up of DPC images. Scalvert, librodo, larus, lovethelight, yanko, jdannels, fotomann, simms and many many more.

I know this isn't in the spirit of this thread, but I found this while browsing the site. It Has to be the funniest photo I have seen in a long while.

Oh, but it IS relevant, Sam... that's what they're doing to the rights of our fellow DPCers ;) ;)

btw - if someone saw images of Leroy's, please link them here & I'll let him know. His being temporarily banned from this site should have no bearing on our helping 'watch his back', imho.
