A friend has done a poll amongst the folks he knows - about 12 - and every Nikon owner is a Republican, and every Canon owner is a Democrat.

We both think that's interesting.

So lets see if that small sample holds true.

I doubt the oly/sony/pentax crowd are independents, but perhaps they are?

Well my first SLR 35mm was a Canon. But now own Nikons.

But I dont consider myself a republican or democrat, although I do lean towards the democratic side of the fence.

I'm more Democrat & shoot Canon. Hmmmmm.

But I live in Canada.

Does somebody have a Democrat/Republican map of the US States? I seem to remember seeing one a while back and thinking it was interesting how the more and less "educated" states were divided into the parties.

Nikon D80 and I lean all the way to the left, so I certainly buck your trend.

Pentax-Olympus-Sony=Independents....I assume?

As for me, Nikon and I lean left of center.

Without having read the website, here's a possible map of Canon versus Nikon owners:

i was also born in AL and lived in FL, LA, NC, SC... all of which are red.

oh. and i also lived in canada, but since i'm so smart, i got he hell out of there after only 6 months...

;)

(with apologies to the many fine canadians who are not slippy...)

We need to get away for this 2 party conspiracy.
We need to keep religion and camera brands out of the government!
PS: My DSLR is Nikon, My Point-and-shoot is Canon ... I reached across the isle.
Vote: ObamaNader!

Hey, hold on, I never specified which states were more "educated", Republican or Democrat. :-P

I shoot canon and find myself a bit more right of center but not hard line republican(especially these days) so figure that out.

Nikonian Democrat

I shoot Olympus, but I definitely run Republican.
Does that mean I'm going to vote for Ron Paul?

Please do.

I think there's treatment for that. If you don't treat it early on you could end like up thinking GW makes sense!

Nikon, Minnesota, Republican.

Canon + die-hard Republican

Nikon SLR, Canon P&S, liberal.

And the US is a whole lot more purple than red or blue. That red/blue map shows up only because of our idiotic, horribly outdated electoral college.

The only difference between us is that there's no way I could grow a beard like that :)
