Its funny, because I am going into a shoot knowing exactly what I am doing, and confident that I can do a good job. However, I have my first shoot tonight with my new job as photo editor of a weekly newspaper. Its a couple hour shoot at a community pool, nothing exciting (or hard), but the butterflys are definately coming out!
Whew! Just needing to vent.

One thing to keep in mind is that your own standards are probably far above even what your employer has set. You will do great! Have fun doing something you enjoy doing...and getting paid for it!

Just wondering how it went?

I was just thinking... doing a nervous portrait session wouldn't be one of those instances where you'd want to fight the butterflies by picturing people naked. The poses you request might not be appropriate.

Good thing no one gave you that advice. I hope things went well.

15 yrs ago I had a nice little photography business going shooting weddings, shooting for the local paper by assignment and freelancing for Country Folkart Magazine. I was nervous and had the butterflies for every shoot. It's a good thing, keeps you in tune. That's how I looked at it. If you get too comfortable you'll forget something, miss something, quit trying hard. be nervous, be on yuor toes, be looking for the right stuff and always looking at it NEW. That should help keep your photo's looking fresh and new and original.

Good luck and remember, besides making money....it's FUN !!!
