Anyone else play with these? Got any to share? Any new tips on how to take them or view them?

If you are able to view this pair, I'd love to know and get your comments!

I've seen a tripod attachment to assist in making these -- it puts the camera mount out at the end of a pivoting arm, so you can move the camera precisely between the two shots.

I keep meaning to try this, but haven't yet. If you've figured out a good way to make them you can write a tutorial for the rest of us.

Left you a comment. Stereo pairs from airliners are fun! Here's one of mine:

ETA: Here's another that I dug out of the archives... not an airline shot, but interesting:

Here's one more from the archives...

I looooooove those 3D shots! My hubby keeps promising to build me one of those tripod gizmos, but as usual, he still hasn't "gotten round to it"

Well, time for him to get on with it!

The London Stereoscopic Company (Brian May and co.) is sponsoring a couple of contests, including one for a style called "Diableries" for which your "models" may come in handy.

Direct link to contest page. Their How-to page has instructions for taking/making stereographs if you haven't done it before -- no special equipment or software necessary ...

I'm waiting to print this and test the effect with a viewer before I submit ...

LOL.... I still don't have one.

But then again, I shouldn't rush him..... it has only been seven years!

When a man says he'll do something, he'll do it - no need for us to nag him every six months (or so I've been told).

Paul, your Diableries stereoview looks good - especially the skeletal dog which comes out through the window.

Karin,

You can do a stereoview with the Cha-Cha method - no special equipment needed - providing nothing in it MOVES.
Otherwise, there are loads of cheap beamsplitters out there for your camera.
For the tripod slide bar, try eBay - seller Dr. T - outstanding seller, good merchandise - he has several.
