I see no difference between these two; what am I missing? Am I blind?

Ummmm...have to agree here, they look identical to me.

Take a look again Robert.
The Menu button as well as the others are vertical on the left side on one , across the top on the other.
Look how the LCD size has been tweaked in proportion to the actual size of the camera back by the buttons being on the side.

Across the top on both. I'm with Robert and Linda, they both look the same and are accurate.

What are you looking at? These look identical to me too.

The picture in the auction is the same as the one on gizmodo. I think the picture on akihabaranews.com is different but I cannot seem to get to that page on that site.

There are significant difference in button placement and size of LCD. If you really don't see any difference, then you probably don't do well finding Waldo. :)

Are you clicking the link at the top of each one to see the full-size versions?

Clicking the links posted. If those aren't what the op wants us to look at then different links need to be posted.

OO are you talking about the buttons across the little LCD display on the TOP of the camera body?

NM I think I see what you are talking about, I can only see the thumb from the first link as my works firewall seems to be blocking that particular photo but looking at the thumb it does look wrong...

Those are accurate as well.

The big picture at the bottom of the Ebay auction is different than the picture at the top that you can click on and enlarge. It confused me too until I realized that we're all looking at different pictures, lol.

eta: Oh, and I have the 40D and can confirm that the second photo, with the buttons along the bottom, is correct. It's a fantastic camera if you're thinking about getting it!

Took me a minute to make the animation, but it's really obvious now:

For soem reason, some of us are seeing identical images and others of us are seeing one image with vertical menu buttons, apparently. So everyone's right and everyone's wrong, it all depends on your frame of reference. Where's Waldo, indeed :-)

I wish it were actually the fake picture :)
And yes the 40d is my next upgrade, after i save some more moola. I'll still use pentax, but I have some serious reservations that i hear have'nt been resolved with pentax. I also already started accumulating canon lens, so too late to turn back now :)

Also! does it use the same lithium battery as the rebel 350xt?

I never even was able to see the fake image...all I could see was 2 identical pics.

it looks like a mini hdtv :)

At first I also thought both links had the same picture, but as others have mentioned, if you click on the links at the top where it says to view the full size picture you can see the difference.

The one I see looks MUCH better. :-)
