Rosco FREE flash Gells Sample
Link for FREE GELLS!!!!!!!!!!!
PERFECT SIZE FOR FLASHES!!!!

I ordered 3 months ago and I got the mail the other day and Blam! There is like 100 different
colored Gels! I did a bunch of shots and I am very happy.

I found 1 8X10 sheet of Gel for $5.99 and wanted every color...it is the
plasitc in front of studio lights to make the stage light red or blue or any
other color. Here is what I got for FREE!

There are about 75-150 Gells!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I asked Jack to take a quick picture on a typical example...but with gells,
you make the typical very different...very quickly. I can also flash a
backdrop to give the backround a color instead of the subject.

Here are the quickie of jack showing the shot

And then the setup...

I am still learning!

I ordered 3 months ago and I got the mail the other day and Blam!

Here is a friend photographing
Stargazer.

Photographer strobed Purple Gell
Approx 15 full power strobes for this shot( I ran around and flashed about 15 times with the flash at full power)

Stargazer Red Gell strobed
Underside accents and eye were shot from behind with no gell
Approx 15 strobes

Red gelled flash Approx 3 strobes (note how dark stargazer is without the strobes)

I FINALLY FOUND WHAT I WAS MISSING!!!!
Night will NEVER BE THE SAME!

I would love this to be a learning thread with lots of examples from others! I will post some more as time goes on.

thanks for the post. I'll have to get me some of those.

here's one I did for a challenge in 2007 using two flashes with different colored sheets of plastic (one blue, one orange). was great fun!

You guys are channeling Chip Simons.

I have a pack of those, they are great! and they fit perfect, just wish I had more packs so I could have matching sets for both flashes. Try this, find the one labeled Full CTO, it is orange and converts the flash to match tungsten lighting. Put your white balance on your camera to tungsten and the flash gel on. What ever the flash hits will have a normal white balance and everything else will be tungsten(blue, if outside) Works best on overcast days. :)

I picked up 7 packs from B&H a while back. They sent one first and then the rest afterwards. Cost me a penny each plus the 5.95 for shipping - even with them splitting the shipping.

The lee filter ones are good too - a bit bigger than the rosco filters and cheaper too (they don't even charge you 1c :) )

I ordered these same ones months back - I'm glad to hear you got them after 3 months, that gives me hope. Maybe my order didn't get lost in the shuffle after all...

Quite humorous since the site said, 7-10 days when I placed my request yesterday.

Good thing I don't plan to hold my breath waiting on them. hehe

Ditto. If I wait too long I may just hop on B & H and pay the $5 shipping.

Last time I tried both rosco and lee fedexed the samples to me the next day. Seemed like overkill for little swatch books, but they paid for it. Maybe it depends how or who you ask. Dunno.

PERFECT SIZE FOR FLASHES!!!!

That's all I use in my flashes. I got two groups for free from B&H 2 years ago.
Try the Night Blue gel. It'll make wonders to your photographs.

It's tough not to go straight to mid 80's cheesy MTV style with these sorts of gels. Maybe some day I'll recover and stop doing that.

though I'm starting to get a shade more subtle
