Guys,

First of all a huge apology to everyone. I have been away travelling for work (London/Zurich/Montreal and now back in Melb) and have ben remiss in my duties as Captain. Joe, thank you for the follow up!

Now, back in the country, back at home and with no view to travel in the near future, I thought I would do the rounds.... I was wondering how you guys wanted to do this. Do we all pick a challenge and everyone enters that or do we spread our entries sort of speak.

Also, what are your thoughts in terms of submissions? Do you guys want to put a few shots up for review prior to the entry or would you rather just do it?

Finally, I am in Australia (Melbourne) I assume most you guys are all over North America (correct?)....

In any case, if you'd like to contact me via MSN, you can do it on sergelugones "at" hotmail.com.

Let the games begin!!

Good to see you made it! I was getting a little worried. :P I think we can decide if we want to help each other with entries via email. I am interested to get other's opinions sometimes, sometimes I really only have one shot to go with, but would be willing to offer advice or my opinions. I think everyone will just pick which challenge they like each week and go for that one.
I believe sulamk is also on holiday but should be back the 24th.

Welcome Captain Serge!! Joe has been great in the last few days by rallying us all together, and I think this is going to be fun. Would love to be able to get opinions and crits before challenges, and hope to be able to send images out to you guys... (great way to learn).

BTW: I'm in Cape Town South Africa ;-)

For my part, am going to try and make at lest the open challenge each week - been absent and adrift from DPC for a few months. Now have a bit more routine, a new camera and new lense... Yippee!

Congrats on the new lens! I can try and get an email list together. I think I have one for everyone but maybe howzit.
We have one teammate, Babsoft who may have been added by accident as he has not posted anything or entered a challenge. If he doesn't get back to me by Monday night, I have a couple alternates if that is alright with everyone. I had contacted Gaby_G when we setting up the teams but didn't get the message until too late and might join us. If she can't do it banmorn would join us so we can have a full team. :)
I am not sure everyone got the rules but only the open challenges count for our scores in the Olympiad. I am thinking to do the black and white n color and have a couple options, will probably try and go out once more if the weather permits. :)

I will add my email address to my profile as soon as I am done here.

Could I ask everyone to change their banner as it has changed with the new members - me specifically :)

yanko graciously updated it. It is in my signature below.

Thanks for the email I'll try and get a list together and send something out tonight or tomorrow. I think yanko updated the old file because I have you in my banner in my signature. :)

ETA: I just sent a group email. If I didn't have your email address I used what you had listed on your profile.

Hi, I've edited my forum signature to include the banner, but I don't see it coming up on the thread? What am I missing?

Ahhh, THERE it is... not sure what I was inhaling at the time.... :-) All sorted out. Not sure why mine is so iddy biddy compared with yours...but it will do.

Must be all that salty air coming off the mountain Faery! I hear it does weird things to the brain.....

It's all organic...all good. Working on my pet portrait this afternoon (I know it doesn't count towards the Olympics, but it's getting me back into the swing of things and how to use the new camera)... Will post my B+W in Colour to you guys... need to pluck up my courage to do that...until now it's all been a case of safety in anononymity when submitting an entry...you put it out there and see how it goes...now am feeling a bit bashful about showing my pieces. Will be a good learning curve.

Okay so how many of us are in this week? I'm in for B+W in Colour... Captain, how many entries do we have in this week?
02/26/2008 02:09:48 PM · #44
I have entered the colour on colour challenge!
02/26/2008 02:24:29 PM · #45
I'd like to apologize in advance for my "color on color" entry.... I know the voters are going to slaughter me, but it was all I could come up with, and besides.... I kinda like it....

My email is down for some reason so I can't check it. I think so far we have enough entries. 4 for sure and I don't know about howzit, SergeP or Gaby_G. We will see, I think next week we will have it down better since some memebers were on vacation and getting final slot all prepared. We have enough to get an average and thats good. :)
02/26/2008 03:54:15 PM · #48
Okay, just in simple language explain how it works: is it an average of all the team's entries for the week or just 4 or a top 4 or what? I missed early explanations.
