Hi Everyone,

I am organising a Melbourne DPC Connect group at our office Board Room on Thursday February 21 from 7:30-9pm. I will be providing supper and refreshments free of charge and there will be no cost for attending. DPC has been very kind to me, and this is a way for me to 'pay it forward'. If successful, we will make it a monthly event, and I will be bringing in some experts that will speak to us about everything from composition, to editing, to equipment, and even some of the upcoming challenges.

It will be fun, informal, and we will get plenty of time for Q and A. I would like to invite Robyn and Andrew Campbell from Melbourne Headshots Company in Collins Street - they are multi award winning master photographers, and they are really great fun. Robyn does a lot of weddings. They photograph famous people and are in the upper boutique level of photography.

They will be at our March event hopefully. The first on on February 21 will be for chat and get together and sharing...

If you are interested, please respond on this forum thread or PM me direct so we can cater for you.

I know iamwoman will be part of this as will brunettechic as well as others whom I have PM'd.

Let me know ASAP,

Enzo

Boy, if only... I'd love to hang out in Oz for another month, especially if you're hosting.

Leok is in your area. Nice guy too.

This is going to be good, to "meet the locals", and should lead me to renew my interest in taking photos. I'm a very infrequent participant and contributor on DPC, but still a very regular lurker.

Thanks for organising it, Enzo..........I definitely plan to be there.

Yippee - SallyJane is a YES!

I've asked one other person - will let you know if they can make it.

I presume it will be held at "The Melbourne Worship Centre" ( //www.realchurch.com.au )- hotpasta is a senior minister there.

I will not be attending as I am not keen on the Pentecostal movement, and events held on their premises are likely to have religious overtones.

Yes I am a pastor, but the night will be pure DPC Photography related with NO religious overtones. I can't help who I am (in fact I am proud of who I am), the purpose of the night is to gather together dpc members in Melbourne and bring some great special guests along that are Photographers. I think you have misjudged me...

"Likely to have religious overtone"??? ... please... not likely.

I have to chime in here, in support of you on this Enzo.

I was a bit taken aback at the comment that this event was "likely to have religious overtones".
I'm not a churchgoer, but that doesnt stop me from attending an event at your work premises, which I expect will be something of great value to all interested enthusiasts. It's photography, that's it! We're going to learn, meet, chat, eat..........not have a church service!

Ps...if the catering's kosher, can my Rabbi come along too?

Thanks so much for the support. Our offices are in a seperate building to our church. A house on the corner that we have renovated in a groovy way. It's a fantastic setting. There are no crosses, stars, signs, stained glass...and anyone can come. I feel sorry for Leo's small minded view...

Not sure about the Kosher catering. Food will be mainly dips and stuff, fresh fruit and nice coffee and tea.
