Since buying the digi camera I've been encouraging my daughter to take photos. She took this today, I think it's interesting, what do you lot think?

Not bad for a first try! By looks of it she has an eye for interesting images.

It's not just a pretty image. I think the reflection of the greenhouse roof in the water really adds interest. The colors are also very nice - the yellows from the sun, black reflections, and green of the lily pads. The only things that bother me are the bright sunspots in the water, and the slight blurriness of the foreground and background. These can be overcome with a bit of practice.

Your daughter has a remarkable eye for noticing this scene. Keep up the good work!

keep up the good work.....nice eye for such a young person. I started taking photos at an early age too, but my results weren't as good as your attempt. Keep posting your works of art!!

Holy Smokes! Wow! That is an extremely striking shot. Very dynamic lighting and color. The reflection in the water is absolutely wonderful. Man, again I feel very inferior here. There is some very remarkable talent out there, even those who are half my age, but are yet still photographic giants compared to myself. Tell her to keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing some future work of hers on the site.

I am impressed not only with the composition she chose, but that it is in focus too!

Wow. That is a great shot... of any age photographer. I love it when people encourage their kids to try new things. A positive influence.. considering the other crap kids can get into.. take care!
