Heya,
i'm pretty new to the whole dpchallenge thing, and i recently submitted a photo in the yellow challenge. i'm flying around 5.1, but i would like to know how your first entries went.

Mine was a total disaster (4.7ish) - so you're already doing better :)
Open your mind and your aperture will follow, or somethign like that....enjoy and welcome

Hi again ;) guess you can cross "start my first ever thread" off your to do list ;)
First entry was Textures II and a whopping 4.2434
Things did get better though, just did Textures V with 6.2874
Like your attitude and if you stick with it things will only get better ;) |

My first entry was in Perspective IV which scored 5.1152
We just had Perspective V which I scored 5.2089 in. I guess my perspective hasn't changed much!

My first entry in Oct 06 came off pretty well score wise (~5.7)
But what I have learned about composition, processing, etc here over the past year and a half and the 'likes' of DPC would have resulted in this as the same entry using the same capture...
It is amazing some of the advancement that occurs around here. The comments, tips, tutorials, and wonderful friendships really have made a difference in my photography.

 - This was my first submission and it was to the Best of 2006 challenge and immediately got me hooked on DPC. The image scored 5.9852 and placed 249 out of 705.
Unfortunately, this image was followed by a host of poor-scoring submissions...

My first scored 6.0458 but I have had a lot since then that scored a lot lower.

4.9, It was my first attempt at setting up a shot, now I look at it and can see why it scored where it did so I am making some progress! |

Welcome! I always enjoy the chance to bring out my first and worst score (by a decent amount, too).
3.77 on this beauty of a bokeh entry:
It was so bad that people thought I was using a totally different technique. :)

My first entry got a 4.5282. I took it with my point and shoot camera because I hadn't gotten a dlsr yet.

My first got an average 5.7040:
It has been downhill since!
My current one is barely keeping it's head about 5.0. :-/ |

My first entry did pretty decent at a 5.26.
I've gone from mostly 4's and 5's to a a lot of high 5's and an occasional 6 as well. Fewer 4's and when I do get them , I usually know why before the voting even starts.

I still love this shot, my very first and I am proud *snifff* and my river entry right now doing worse than this one :) and that (river) is not my worst either... So, those people who thinks that very first entries are the worse images, they are wrong very much :P
