This is a quick file that I put together. It isn't anything special, but I wanted to test the program. I would say that the noise levels are very minimal compared to what I would get from Photomatix.

Remember this software is still in its early days so some things will not work properly, what would be really great is if you find anything you dont like, doesnt work, or would like to see added, join the google group I linked to in the PM and contribute, the whole idea of this release is to get it out to more people, not just to use, but to contribute to.

I recieved an email from one of the Devs this morning, he isnt 100% happy with the current build (they disabled the multicore support due to a few errors) so a new build will be out in the next few weeks. I will not be posting the updates on here after this one, so if you want to be kept abreast of new releases, join the group!!!

EDIT - to prevent 101 requests for this to be a photoshop plugin, Version 1 will not be released as a plugin.

I don't really care if it is a plugin or not, but would I would like to see is a transfer to Photoshop function like DPP has. I tonemapped the image below in the Wukong program, but I read that you couldn't save it as a 16bit Tiff, so I just saved the HDR file and Tonemapped in Photoshop. What is your workaround for this?

Thanks.

And again thanks for the link and the opportunity. My preliminary thoughs are Photomatix will be a thing of the past unless they make some serious changes. One more thanks for the comment on my image.

here is my version of a tone mapped image

I had a play around last night- very fast, but it looks like somebody screwed around with the shadow/highlight tool too much.

Also, there's a spelling mistake in the tone mapping menu. But that comment's probably better placed in the Google group thingy.

OK, replied to all PMs now.. In the PM you will find a link to a google group, there isnt a lot in there at the moment as the bulk of communication between testers and developers has been via email.. any questions you need answered either PM me or post something in here, I will try to help..

Nope, you missed one (unless you didn't receive mine). I sent a PM and would definitely like to put this program through it's paces if you can let me play. Thanks.

Either it's being pushed too hard or that needs to be worked on from what I'm seeing in this thread.

It's being pushed too hard. Nothing cant prevent halos from happening when you push too hard, no matter what you're using, basically.

You've sent me two requests--one yesterday and one just now. Should I forward the second one along to someone else? ;-)

Hey Mark, did I make the cut? I made the request a ways back before you cut it off here. Either way it is pretty cool you included so many.

After a quick test with a three exposure HDR shot I did last week I find this tool AMAZING!

It is "HDR for dummies" with fantastic results. I have been fighting with Photoshop CS2 for months and finally I can make a decent HDR composite but from what I have seen in a short time, this program is NUTS!

VERY easy to use and VERY fast and VERY versatile and VERY "you choose what attitude you want for your image"

After I play with it some more I will be sending a critique (probably a rave) to the developers. If I find tiny faults that I would like to see improved, of course, I will mention them so they may do something about it in the future if I am not the only one to mention them, but I am not too optimistic about finding too much fault with this program.
