Oh yeh, and one more unexpected present. We got pink eye, so the family had to stay home today and eat chocolates and mac and cheese.

pink eye?

You know, conjuntivitis. It is an infection in the eye which causes wonderful pussing and dripping and itching and drooping and pain and all sorts of wonderful things. It is also very CONTAGIOUS.

My early present that I bought in NZ was a Nikkor AF50mm f1.8 (my first prime :D )

To feed my addiction Becky-Leeand her b/f bought a Gorillapod, Cameron gold/white folding 20" reflector, Cameron 9" 4-in-1 reflector set, a Kata E690 "elements cover" and a couple spare lens caps.

Also got a superbig T-Fal Expert frypan, $150 spa gift card, sweater, slippers, chocolate (of course), wine, a light-up-in-water DUCKY, a grow-DUCKY and another cute DUCKY (I'm now getting quite a collection of 'em).

From my mom I got a chef's knife and a mandolin (if you're a foodie, you know what that is), a beautiful chenille throw, Opium perfum and lotion. Also got real Scottish shortbread, an Italian bracelet made of individually crafted glass beads. One friend gave me a huge Indian batik cloth, which is gorgeous. I got Starbucks coffee, tea, a figurine, self-knitted socks, chocolate from Germany. AND...

Several friends contributed to my new Canon EOS 350D Rebel XT - WOOOOOOT!!!!!

I'm currently in Florida and The Camera and The Lens are arriving day after tomorrow here at my mom's house.

Not at all :-) And mandolines are cool; I love mine.

R.

And I want one in the worst way!

Yes...they are very cool...and I too love mine. Please just don't EVER think that maybe if you push with the fingers that it will work better than the guide thing that comes with the mandolin. I have this wonderful scar now where the tip of my little finger used to appear unblemished. Sharp suckers, ain't they? :)

I got some studio lighting and a brand new Fisher Price Kid Tough Camera! I haven't tried it yet, but I think I can drop it down the stairs and it will keep on working.. For those who know my clutzy behavior with my DSLR (a swim in the ocean and drop down the stairs), this is the perfect gift....
