Well, today I had to let go of my best friend and loving feline of 7 years, Siron. She will be missed every day. The details of her illness has been covered over in the Team Suck Oasis thread if you want to read it.

I thought it would be nice for us to share photos of our dearly departed pet friends.

This is Siron [thumb]607488[/thumb][thumb]585340[/thumb] [thumb]585341[/thumb]I miss her already.

This is Snowball [thumb]256636[/thumb] [thumb]256635[/thumb] He used to love to have his photo taken!

both of them died of liver cancer. :(

Please share pictures of the pets you have had in your life in this thread as a tribute to what they meant to you.

Hugs, Ernie. I'd share photos of mine, but all I have are prints from film days (and an "instamatic camera" at that!) and I don't have those with me, nor the capability to scan them if I did. But I still miss my dear Jasper the Wonderdog - best dog in the whole world; Chessie, the son of one of our family cats, who had the most excellent "motor" and a slightly devious personality; and Domino the Hiss/Growl kitty who hated every human being she met but tolerated me (after a month or so) and learned to get along with the aforementioned dog and cat I already had when I got her.

Ollie: 02/2006 Quietly euthanized after battling dilated cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart with congestive heart failure) for several months to no avail. He was 8 and after 2 years I still miss him sometimes.

This is our Ollie. She passed away on Wednesday 12/19/07. She was 19 years old. She passed very gracefully in the arms of Townley after spending the whole day with her, to comfort her, since we noticed she wasn't "right". We just kinda knew the time had come.

This is a picture of Lola our funny lop-eared bunny who we lost the end of October this year. He started off his house bunny life with our youngest son and his 4 18-year old roomies in their college home.
Then they got tired of Lola and he (YES, he) made the move to our house. He at the time we thought he was a she was my mother's day gift one year. His life improved tremendously at that point.
He had a definite personality and was FEISTY like you wouldn't believe. Our house is much more boring now without Mr. personality around.
Ernie, thanks for this site. Sorry you had to go thru the problems at this time of year. Just keep reminding yourself that she is an a much better place.

Our wonderful ROMPY. Oh my goodness, we miss him so much. He was just a baby when we had to let him go. Hardly any time together but the time we had was so amazing. I miss him all the time. I'm glad my screen name is Rompy in remembrance(I joined DPC the week after he passed). Every time I log in I remember him and smile.

“It” was “just a cat” he said,
without meaning any harm.
I pondered what was said.

“Just a cat” that playfully woke me,
a funny 6 toed foot to the face
letting me know her dish was empty.

“Just a cat” that made me laugh,
attacking my blanketed feet,
beckoning me to play.

“Just a cat” craved attention,
laying on this keyboard,
and I smiled as I typed.

“Just a cat” nuzzled my ear,
purring softly and giving comfort,
somehow knowing when to do so.

“Just a cat” looked at me,
with nothing but her love,
and unconditionally so.

No sir, not “Just a cat”.
She was my best friend.

This is a photo of Tobie on the left and Bear on the right. Bear had thyroid cancer and we put him to sleep on December 12th at the age of 12.75 years old. Bear was unusual at communicating and he let me know what he wanted for his send off. It was a visual image of who he wanted there and where it would be. He was ready to go and watched the whole procedure and went peacefully. What an amazing loving dog, friend, son-in-a-furry-suit.

I also put together a website as he would speak about his life. It is pretty long and has a lot more pictures. Here is the link if you wish to view. //web.mac.com/slaakso1/iWeb/Sweet%20Loving%20Bear/Hello,%20I%27m%20Bear.html
