Tell us about the printers you use for printing photographs and multi-media art.

Thanks,

Epson R800. Great colour. Fast. Quiet. Archival.

Inks are too expensive. Can't print bigger than letter (or letter width panos)

To get things started my current printers are:

Canon PIXMA ip4300
Epson Photomate
HP AIO 6100

The Canon PIXMA ip4300 is the best but lately it is not replicating colors correctly.

I got a canon pixma mp500 that works pretty good for me.

I recently got a Canon Pixma 6700D. I love it so far!
I wanted one that printed 16x20 but those are out of the budget range.

Black and yellow seem to be the fastest inks to go.

Epson Stylus PHOTO 1400. I love it! It produces very good prints, the colors are very natural and correct.

Here's a very extensive review of it: //www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Epson%201400/Page_1.html

When you use a printer like the Epson--I notice that the ink cartriges are about $23 or so off of amazon.com... What do you think it costs on a per print basis? Are you running out of ink often?
That being said, does anyone else have advice on per print cost/style of printer?
I'm thinking about a printer down the road and weighing the convenience/quality vs. sending out for prints.

I use Costco too, as I have one less than a mile away from my home--has anyone done any comparisons of Costco quality vs. more expensive services, or home printing?

Epson stylus Photo R2400 with continuous ink 'Quill' system by Fotospeed in the UK.

Produces exceptional A3 prints and the ink works out so much cheaper than the tiny epson cartridges.

i live 1/2 way between two Costcos
the one i started with has been VERY consistent, the one I've recently started visiting has been somewhat 'less calibrated' & i will not deliver final work there ..

HP B9180, I think the results are incredible. I've always had good luck with HP printers and haven't been disappointed with this one. It has 8 ink cartidges, each about $33 a piece but I've printed quite a few photo's with the supplied cartridges (5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 13x19) and still have ink left.

CANON PIXMA MP610... JUST REPLACED MY PIXMA IP4200, WHICH WAS AWESOME.

sorry, didn't mean to yell. :(
