How can it be the worst black friday when we haven't even had it yet?

Well, the whole season has already taken a turn for the worst, since my daughter (age 9) decided that she wants a Wii, and they're basically unavailable. I've already been to every friggin' electronics store in the area and have no reason for optimism... bah, and/or humbug.

So glad I'm not leaving the house Friday....I might be crazy but I'm already done Cristmas shopping, I pick stuff up all through the year at art shows, craft shows, in stores, on line, or when I just see something. Its fun to go through it all come close to Christmas, because half the stuff you forgot you bought.
Who ever is going out on friday....be careful..... :)

Is there a Fry's in your area? They always sell the hot items in a package deal. They add a couple of games and and extra controller. The games are good and the first thing you'll want is an extra controller. If there's not one in your area, try //www.outpost.com That's their online store. They may have them there.

Good luck!

I have it on good authority that Game Stop will have them on Black Friday. I hope there is one near you!

oh I love Black Friday. The blood, the sweat, the shrill screams of desperation. 2 years ago I was 7 months pregnant, I knocked a lady out of my way for a computer at Best Buy. But she already had a ticket. She wasnt very nice to me after that....

My holiday shopping plan every year:

From now until February 1st I only go into convenient stores. I will even skip over Home Depot until then. I find this is best to avoid any shopping crowd and the return crowd.

mrsrex hated it the year we bought everything online. I LOVED IT!!!!

Best Buy generally get shipments every week. I called last week, and they said they were getting some that evening, available the next day.

So the next morning I went in and got one. And it's sweet!

I'm going to Nintendo store tomorrow morning to get wii. Wish me luck.

edit: I'm getting in line an hour before store opens. This way I have some chance.

edit2: and I'm completelly pissed off at nintendo. They had entire year to make them. How could they not be avaliable?!?!?!?!

walmart has a site to store purchase. you can purchase it online and they will ship it to your local store and you dont have to pay for shipping.then you just go to the store, show your online reciept and get you Wii..easy as that

Well, nintendo are making 1.8m units a month and they sell out before thay arrive in the stores. In the UK, stores have 100,000 requests A DAY for a console. It takes Nintendo 5 months to increase their production run by about 15% and by this time the demand may have lessened. Just keep trying, somewhere has to have one.

HaHa! I do the almost the same thing. In fact I stay completely away from the areas of town where the Malls and other stores are located... avoiding them like the plague. If I absolutely must get some shopping done I'll do it at Wallyworld well after midnight. And sadly, even those early morning adventures are becoming more and more crowded.

I just sent you a PM. Honestly, I will pay you $50 on top of shipping if you can get one at the $250-ish retail price. That's how pathetic I've already become, and it's not even Thanksgiving yet.

I got a wii a few months ago quite by accident. I heard the clerk at the Game store at the mall tell a customer on the phone that they were expecting 3 of them to come in after 2pm that day by the UPS guy and to call back after 2pm.

Didnt think much of it, since I wasnt planning on buying one really. About 10 minutes later I am walking through the mall, see the UPS guy walking OUT of the game store, so I walked right up to the counter and said "Ill take a wii you just got in"

Go me!!
