The 2007 FSM has been a great success with two months to go. Thanks to all that have participated I hope it has helped you with your photography in some way.
With its success it’s time to announce the 2008 signup period for the FSM.
1-If you don’t know what the FSM is you can visit the 2007FSM to see the results through October 2007.
2-Signup for the 2008 FSM is open to all members during the signup period.
3-Sign period begins today and will continue until Dec. 31st midnight (DPC server time).
4-No applicants will be accepted after the signup deadline.
5-To signup all you have to do is PM me letting me know that you want to participate. (see link at the bottom of this post)
6-When you send your PM please provide the following information
A-Your username
B-Your user_ID number (profile number).
7-If you have any questions about the FSM you can PM me anytime and I will answer all PM in the order they are received.
8-Currently the 2007FSM is viewable; the 2008FSM will come online January 1st, 2008.
9-There are no particular rules associated with the FSM. Just try to enter as many challenges as possible. Points are awarded based on your placement in each challenge. Then points are totaled and the most points received determine the users rank.
10-To participate in the FSM all I ask is that you try to vote as much as possible (if you can) on the free study entries. The FSM does not force anyone to vote and does not feel anyone should be forced to vote. Everyone have a good time and suggestions are welcome during the signup period.

Scott, the user_ID number is tricky to find. To get it you need to mouseover a post you've made and look at the number in the browser status bar (IE at bottom), or go to your profile page then mouseover the link on your profile that say's 'View Photographer's Portfolio' (user_ID number will be in the browser status bar).
May be some other ways as well I'm sure - but it's not something that everyone may be aware of. |

There are two ways that you can find your User_ID #
1. Goto Community
a. Click on "photographers profiles"
b. Enter your username and click search
c. Click on your username. It will take you to your profile and your user_id number will be in the address line (//www.dpchallenge.com/profile.php?USER_ID=22970
2. Go to your profile
a. Click on any of your images
b. Click on your username below your image
c. USER_ID can be found in the address line of your browser as in step 1.c |

It's actually not that hard to find - one way to do it:
Go to your portfolio - your user ID will be shown in the address bar:
//www.dpchallenge.com/portfolio.php?USER_ID=66353&collection_id=1

One question. Does this only count Free Study entries or all entries?

Thanks for your question  rex. Yes, only counts the monthly free study challenges. It will NOT count any other challenges even if it is an unscheduled free study challenge.

I dunno why, since I have yet to break 6.0, but I'm in again.
Maybe it's that "Highest Scoring Entrant That Hasn't Broken 6.0" trophy! LOL!!!!
Hey, it definitely takes me outside my comfort zone.

| Will the results show the person closest to a 5.5 average in FS entries? If so, I'll consider it. If not, there's really no point for me. :-) |

It will be on the same order as the 2007FSM but I may add some new features. That is if enough people sign-up. |

| Maybe you can include an updated list at the beginning of this thread so people know if they signed up or not...I know I have so much on my mind at the moment that often I forget if I have signed up to things like this. |
