I gotta try to keep the xbox thread going, ya know since this a photog site and all (insert sarcasm)..

I "rented" Madden 09-- its a fun game, and real easy achievements if your a achievement whore, I unlocked 850 outta 1000 in 2 days..

You can play Favre on the jets with a roster update (go to online play and it prompts the download)..

Its not groundbreaking, but but fields look alot better this year and the break-away cam is super cool..

And I'll comment on the new arcade downloads-- The first one was Geo 2 and its well worth 10 bucks-- 2nd in the summer of arcade (as Xbox calls it) was Braid, This one comes in at 15 dollars, and honestly I played the demo, its kinda cool, but not gonna get my 15 bucks- 3rd Is Bionic Commando Rearmed-- Again tried the demo-- And the graphics are very polished, I wasnt a huge fan of the origianl NES game, so I wont get the full version-- Now next week a new Galaga comes out, and Im a huge Galaga Fan-- so Ill prolly get that one.

Now for some old but new news-- I finally got around to renting NHL 08 from EA, and very few games make me go wow, but this is an amazing game, Graphics and Presentation are superb! Im sorry Im late on this game-- because Its a sight to see.. Its just damn pretty, honestly the best looking sports game Ive played on 360-- I woke up my girfriend to show her my replays-- she wasnt happy lol

Sidenote-- I found Scene It on Clearance for 20 bucks-- with them cool wireless controllers, anyone have that game? For 20 Bucks I cant go wrong can I-- Gonna get that 2mor..

Fable 2 Pub Games on XBLA is really cool, I grabbed it today. Basically a pretty cool solitare, roulette and sweet slot machine type gadget. Best part is gold (and items) earned in Pub Games can be transfered to your character in Fable 2 when in comes out in a couple weeks. So far I'm ahead.

Hey Ben, how's your Rock Band gear holding up? I've gone through 1 guitar, 1 bass pedal and just found that my yellow drum pad is snapped (still works for the moment though). I'm gonna have to get a real kit so I can stop breaking stuff.

Castle Crashes is 1,000,000 times better than Braid, and when they actually get the online fixed, it'll be that much better.

i just set up a simple system to record guitar hero world tour 'studio' tracks to the computer.... now my dreams of being in a band might be coming true ... ;}

sounds silly. and it might well be, but using a program like audacity, would allow you to add 'real' lyrics to the gh4 generated drum, bass, lead, and rythym tracks.

from what i can gather it looks like the guy that created fretbuzz ( use your guitar hero guitar to make 'real' music ) was involved in the GH4 studio development.

i just took apart and repaired our cracked drums...

kind of tricky - but not too bad.

the pad itself is held in place by four rubber forked feet that snap into the drum base.

you can pull the pad off being careful:
1) not to make the crack worse
2) not to yank the connecting wires off of either the drum pad or the base.

there is a plug you can dis-engage on the base to let the pad be free for ease of repair.

there are six screws that hold a retaining ring around the rubber hit surface. remove those and you can peel the rubber surface from the drum pad to reveal the crack.

i used 2 part five minute epoxy and fiberglass sheetrock repair tape. i used a putty knife to smooth the epoxy into the mesh tape.

the end result is a bit stiffer than the original gear, but seems to be just as sensitive to the wailing on ;}

i can send you cell phone pics if you PM me your number.

electrical tape and spare butter knives will likely get your foot pedal back in action...

Me! I dunno if I'll buy it tomorrow, we've got company coming and I'm not sure I'd be able to resist.

What's with this love for Tom Clancy and war games these days? They're pretty much all the same and SO boring. Oh well, to each their own. *goes back to Guitar Hero*

end war is NOT the same.

i just calibrated my voice to the game, and went through the first training mission using solely my voice and the camera angle...

oh and the rest of them are fun too... ;}

Anyone getting ready for Gears of War 2 this Friday? The first was pretty sweet and I expect this to relegate my Halo 3 to the book shelf for a while.

No, I have Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, although I rented the World Tour game (but not the instruments). From what I can tell though, it sounds like a bit of a silly gimmick that doesn't add much.

I'm getting world tour tomorrow :D
I'll stick with my RB guitar and drums tho :) Then on the 21st Rock Band 2 is out, woo! I'll have more songs to complete than I can shake a stick at :P AND I still have to complete Fable 2 and 4 more cities on RB1 BWT (singing and guitar at the same time).

The strumbar broke on my first guitar so I had to send the whole lot back (you can't just send a single instrument in Europe) and everything has worked great since then. I noticed a crack appearing on my bass pedal but I've padded it out with some cotton buds and its holding up fine. I've used the "sock mod" on my drums to make them more sensitive to rolls now that I play regularly on expert, since they seemed to miss a lot of hits on the red pad, but they're fab now :) I'm considering the ION if they do bite the dust.

padded with cotton balls ? hmmm...

tape a butter knife to it. or use some glue ?

;}
