We wish to remind all users that Daylight Saving (Summer) time in the United States and Canada ends this Sunday morning, 04 November 2007, at 02:00 AM local time. This will affect all site users, including those outside the US/Canada, in one of two ways:

Users in most of the US and Canada should remember to set their camera clocks back one hour. When setting the time, remember that most cameras use 24-hour time. Don't set your camera for 7:00 if it's really 19:00!

Users worldwide, as well as locations in the US and Canada that do not observe daylight saving time should be aware that since the DPC server is affected by Daylight Saving Time, this may change when challenge rollovers occur relative to your local time. To determine when rollover will occur, check the Current Server Time anytime after 02:00 AM on 04 November 2007. Although we cannot guarantee its accuracy, you may find it convenient to refer to this page as well.

Thanks, Terry. Since my first DQ came last year because I shot an entry at 11:45 pm, but my camera still said 12:45 am, I appreciate the reminder! :)

Why did you call it (Summer) time? I've never in my years heard it called that before. Is that a regional thing?

What we call Daylight Saving Time in the US and Canada is known as Summer Time to most of the rest of the world.

Thanks for the reminder! Out here in AZ we don't do the daylight savings thing - but it's always good to know when everyone else does it!

Cool. I've never been outside the US and Canada and did not know that.

Now my quest to become as knowledgeable as Cliff Claven is one step closer. :)
