Thanks for the suggestions, I am still almost constantly switching out pictures, I was just excited that I finally got the slideshows and stuff working. I will check out the link problem.

I can put the meat and potatos in alternate text. Would it be found there? I can't really not put it in an image file because I wouldn't know how to font, size, color and perfectly position it like it is. I am still really new at this.

Thanks bunches!

Hi Claire,

First off, great looking portfolios!

One thing I noticed, and it doesn't look like anyone else mentioned this, is that when your portrait pages are viewed in Firefox there is no scrolling to see the entire page. Your pages get cut off at the bottom on a monitor set to 1024 X 768 and the web browser set to an even smaller size. You might want to consider checking your work with both browsers since they both get used the most. Otherwise, great looking site.

I set it to no scrolling because I wanted it to be fixed. In my Firefox browser it is smaller than my window but looks fine. I am not sure how to check it in other browsers because I don't have any. Can you not see the whole thing or is it just smaller than you would like?

ps. I fixed the prices and locations links

It looks fine to me both in Firefox and Safari. I can see the whole image.

...all these niggles and nitpicks ( although I know they're well meant ).
To me, your website is stunning........slick, crisp look and feel to it all, great photographs, and an overall very positive impression.
Well done..........you're impressive all round.

Site looks just grand.

All I want to know is how the heck you got Simpleviewer to play so nicely with your site. For the life of me I can't get it to sit properly in my template. Always got an inch or so at the top all the time.

HAHAHA it took WEEKS of poking and prying at the code in an html editor....it gave me HELL! I had to redo my base website about 4 times before I got a basic layout that the simpleviewer could fit in...it is not easy..

The new layout is a very nice improvement over the old one. Great job on design and layout. BB

Nevermind..read it above the prices.I am wondering why your inside shots are more than the outside shots?

Love the site, but it does take a little longer to load the newer site than the older. I always give up and leave if it takes to long.

How can I make the loading time less?
12/18/2007 05:39:42 PM · #36
I am amazed at how your site has transformed and become so beautiful. The time to load when first viewed is a touch slow but the images that you have running are enough to keep my interest intact. Great images and website in my opinion.

I clicked on it again and it is running fast now. Must have been the server. I really like it! Great website and photos to go with it!

It probably runs faster because your browser saved it as a cache so it can just pull it up really quickly. That works too...I am going to try to make the images smaller so they might be read faster

Sorry, I had to test that banner and didn't realize it was as big as the universe. :(

I like it though in firefox the bottom 1/3 of the page is just grey. If the entire page is smaller than the browser window size maybe don't stretch it to fit. (stretch is probably the wrong word but there seems to be just too much blank space at the bottom that appears to be part of the page) -- gallery pages

Also, when I navigated to the nature gallery for the first time, simpleviewer hung trying to load the first image and only showed the first four thumbs. When I navigated away and back it worked find. Who knows what's causing that?

;o)

ETA: No menus on the head shots and portraiture pages and only home in the menu on the children gallery page. Are you in the middle of creating the complete menu like in the nature gallery?

EEK! I am so sorry, I have been messing with it all day and randomly switching out things and you probably just caught it during a time I was uploading and deleting stuff. Sorry! It is all calm now.
