I accidentall got 2 scores over six...but the majority don't even make 5.0!! I have just gotten CS2, don't have any lights or even an external flash and limited equip. Anyone willing to take on this task?

If you could fake your age, Larus is available, it seems.

Arjun...you saying I'm old???!! :P Or that I REALLY need help! This gave me a GOOD laugh!
I wish I were young enough to qualify - but I've got a FANTASTIC mentor in our own SandyP and I couldn't be more thrilled!!!

Naa, just pulling Larus' leg. Larus' oxymoron:
'should be in teens but mature enough to take criticism' (yaa thats gonna happen) did put smile on my face.

Simms, you can put ryand up as my "apprentice" or whatever the term is :)

Sorry for the others who PM´d me, I wish I felt I could take you all on but right now I am up to my ears in work and I kind of want to stay with juggling only one ball for now, maybe later?

Yooohoooo.

I've taken on brens29 and JerseyGenie as apprentices.

Thanks.

Seeing Ursula available, I just felt I needed a mentor. I have tried some of her shots (almost always when I see a flower, dew drops on twigs) but never got anything close! I guess, I was just being greedy to get more 6s :)

And I wanted to contribute to this great thread, but can't imagine anyone would want me as a mentor! But sure put me in as a mentor I have gained a lot from this community, wouldn't mind helping out if I can!

Why would you need a mentor?? plenty of 6s in your PF.

I wouldn't mind being an apprentice with someone who has a D200 and more then one ribbon. I PM'd Ursula today.

Shalrath already emailed me last night to agree do both roles apprentice/mentor and mentor apprentice with each other.
I'm not sure if we can be both roles. Maybe between us 2 on-hit wonders we can wonder how to get more ribbons.

I just got your email. I'd love to work with another D200 owner, but I have to decline - I have three "apprentices" already, magenmarie, picturesbykim, and Agaricus. The four of us hope to win many ribbons in the near future, and learn lots of stuff about mushrooms and horror movies besides the photography stuff.

:)

Hey, I just noticed, two of them are Canon people. What's up with that? I'll have to straighten them out!

Ahh didn't see this post, I was so excited seeing your name in the list of mentors and no apprentice next to it, that I pmed you! Well I will browse through the list again and send a pm to other mentors :)

OK, now the dust has settled somewhat from the initial posting, I'd like to say a couple of things (one and a hlaf bottle fo wine downed so far this evening, its my first weekend off shooting wedddings for MONTHS, so enjoyig myself, at home on DPC! FOrgive any spelling mistakes).

1. What an amazing community this place is! the number of poeple willing to give up a few3 hours to help other memebers out really is testament to what this website is about. well done all of you! I fricken love this community.

2. Keep us all updated about any successes you mentees have since you start working with them.

3. Apprentices. Make sure you sing the praises of your mentors if you feel you have benefitted from their advice. They really are amazing people.

5. wheres number 4?

4. ah, here it is.

Seriously though, I think we need to keep this project alive. And maybe the day willl come where someone who was a apprentice becomes a mentor themselves and helps out someone else.

thats all.. done 1.75 botttles of wine now... fantastic!!!!!!!!!

Just so all the spelling mistakes are preserved and you can cringe in the morning.

Hey mate thanks for all your effort in getting this going, I'm sure everyone will get something from it!

well i can help out with number 2. Mark has been great and has helped me loads.

It is because of him this projected started in the first place, and this thread must break some sort of record for how fast it has got up and running!

So thank you mark !!

I'm so excited about this!!!! I have learned a lot from this site and also my DPL team, but this is going to be great too. I still have so much more to learn (my recent and current 4's are telling me that :-)

Thanks for organizing this! And thank you to all the mentors. It really does mean a lot to all of us that you are willing to come alongside and teach us. You guys are great!

lol that tired old d200 is only 1 month old, I Just got it, the wait for the d300 didn't interest me. The D200 is awsome compared to what I had, and around $1000 cheaper too :)

I think the learning process is just not about what you know, it's learning about what others know. It is more like team work. We will work it out, we can make it happen.

I've connected with mad_brewer for mentorship.

This is a great idea! Thanks for suggesting it.

I cant believe i finally noticed this thread. is it too late to sign up for apprentice??
10/21/2007 04:42:36 PM · #275
No, go to the first page and it shows all of the mentors. Choose your mentor, preferably one with no mentorees yet and then send them a p.m. asking them if they will take you.
