I don't believe I could be considered a mentor and I'm not really looking to be an apprentice. So not having read the entire thread is there anyone that wants to be paired with someone that is an equal? It would be more of a learning experience for me to play both roles with another person.

Sent you a PM along the same lines...

Mark, it might be a good idea to update your opening post with the current mentor/mentee list so you don't have to dig through the thread for the latest list.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, though it looks like you have been paired up already. Anyone else thinking along the same lines? I think it would be great to play both roles, would certainly encourage me to shoot challenges more. If there are a number of people it might be worth a new thread since this is fairly crowded.

Noticed this thread just now. Are there any mentors free to take me as an apprentice, I promise to be a good student :)

I'm really encouraged to see how many people with low or incosistent scores are still signing up to this thread as these folk still have the most to gain.

If they slow up for even 1 second though I will be floozing myself about looking for someone to mentor me :- )

(Actually much like I was on page 4)

I could be persuaded to take one apprentice, however I want to do so on my own terms as I preferrably would want to mentor someone young and promising who is just dying of interest in photography but maybe doesn´t have the best equipment and experience but really just spends the better part of the day thinking about photography.

Basically the criteria what I would be looking for is ->

- 20 years or younger

- owns a DSLR or at least an advanced camera wich you can set aperture, shutterspeed and iso manually

- have been on this site for at least a couple of months and entered some challenge, are familiar with DPC and it´s features

- have at least knowledge of the basics, what the camera settings mean and at least some basic post processing experience, I don´t want to mentor someone from scratch

- is not afraid to shoot just about anything and to experiment, I don´t want to mentor someone who just want´s to stick with just one style of photography

- want´s to take this seriously, I don´t want to mentor someone who is just looking for a little boost to their scores on DPC but someone who genuinely is interested in photgraphy, not just at DPC

- I can be a bit too honest at times so the individual has to be able to take critizism with an open mind and not personally

Sorry if this sounds a little bit arrogant/harsh/rude/not in the spririt of this thread but like I say above, I want to get something out of this as well and I want to help someone who is promising but has problems executing their ideas for shoots, not just help someone boost their scores a bit.

Send me a PM if you think you fit the criteria :)

Rats, that is the only criteria I don't meet. :)

I'm still available as either an apprentice or mentor. I don't know if Mark is still keeping track here or how the pairing needs to be done....

I like Larus' list and would prefer a mentor or apprentice with at least a few of those terms as well. Specifically I'd like to pair with someone who wants to take it seriously for the photography, not just to increase my/his/her scores.

Dang...just logged in and look at the party happening!! Can I PLEASE be accepted by someone as an apprentice if it's not too late?!
I accidentall got 2 scores over six...but the majority don't even make 5.0!! I have just gotten CS2, don't have any lights or even an external flash and limited equip. Anyone willing to take on this task?

Same here, would have loved to have larus as Mentor, but the age is not on my side

Interest was shown for the "equals" by Shadowi6, latenflip and lunachicken.
I've paired myself with lunachicken since he is more my equal. I've PM'd both Shadowi6 and latenflip to pair up as I think they would be a good match.

Best of luck everyone!

Larus, does your wife know you're trolling DPC looking for dates? ;)

Why does age matter? I mean, mentor who you want, but I'm curious why it matters to you. *scratches head*
