I love it to be someone I know, especially one of our DPC leading processing photographers, to contact me please, to be my mentor.....

With your portfolio you could be a mentor if you wanted. :-)

Ah, the spirit of the DPL is surfacing, even if the real thing is not here yet. :)

Hmm, I see myself in the middle somewhere. I am getting reasonable scores on most challenges, around the 6 mark on average these days, but I've never been close to a ribbon, and finding it tricky to improve my score further, or even to predict how my images will score.

I can certainly put myself up for commenting on somebody's images before some challenge entries, but everyone in the Apprentice list seems to be around or above my level anyway! I don't know that I'm qualified to mentor anyone.

I would also love to get feedback on my entries if anyone is willing to mentor me.

I'm still definitely interested in being an apprentice, but I do have my fair share of over 6's. So I'll back out to give others help. If there's extra mentors at the end of the pairing though, I claim one!!!

I have sent a PM to put my name on the list because I was missed earlier, around page 3. I would be interested in any help offered.

Thank you.

I sent you a PM simms, although I'll warn you my last apprentice went to the dark side and got himself a year-long ban...

I'll help out Darlene ( riversong) too.

Any SC lurking in this thread? My question is how hard it would be to set up another batch of "private" threads for mentoring groups. Works very well for DPL discussions and I think it would help a great deal here. The other option is to use open threads so others can read and either learn or help if they saw fit, but that would preclude discussion of potential challenge entries.

If you've been shooting the more DPC friendly colors like yellow, blue and bright red, but really crave dark brown and want to do well with it I'm your guys! I doubt I can help you reach the heavenly 7s with it but I may be able to get you to at least 6.5. :P

Seriously though, if anybody feels they can learn from me let me know, challenges or otherwise.

I was thinking that private threads would be a great idea also. Some members may not want their work critiqued in public.

I just found this, I'd be happy to participate. I'm not sure which group I fit into... I sporadically make good pictures (IMHO)... but I'm willing to participate in either capacity.

I'd take you up on that, Richard - at least as far as trying to do well with non-DPCfriendly colors, like beige? :-) Seriously, I'd love photoshopping tips, but I'd probably have to be there for you to show me what you "see" when you dodge and burn and stuff. I'm clueless on most of the spot editing stuff - I know how to do it, more or less, just not where, why and when.

Could I be added to apprentice list, from this week I have started to learn photography. And will be trying to learn for next 1 month or so.
I need help about photography in general (not about challenge entries, might not be entering much in future).

You did and I am, and anything I can learn from you will be passed on to those I'm going to be working with. :-)
Edit to add I've asked about the possibility of private threads for those "groups" with more than one mentoree. If a one-to-one situation, I suspect email would suffice. I'd also suggest that if the "big dogs" have a willing student or two and don't plan to discuss challenge entries, an open thread might be a good idea - let lurkers in on the lessons.

Okay... so I guess I'm mentoring, although I will be watching all threads as I have a lot to learn.

However, I will share whatever knowhow I happen to have with anyone who wants it, if anyone would like to be paired with me, feel free to let me know.
