I was torn about which to post all day today. I was thinking there would be LOTS of piano keys done so I did a guess a number game and ended up posting the other photo. Now I wish I had posted this one LOL
I knew I would do this no matter which one I posted.

Swallow's Buoy and The Andi - took this one the day before the challenge started :-P

Lobster pot and rowboat - tried to replicate above, but the buoy was in the water and I just wasn't satisfied with this one.

Jeeesus, if that's an outtake I can't wait to see what your submission was. Slightly amazing, is the couple a statue or real people?

"Will I make it" having seen lots of pics of cats , dogs and kids(mine included), I would have given this image a high score. It looks great in B&W and I like the texture that the steel construction gives. Great shot. You can just hear that train coming, CHOO CHOO !!

My outtakes are not really outtakes. I liked these fine as well.

These are simply OTHER black and white photos I thought about entering. I tried several ideas. Liked most of them but you gotta choose something :-)

re: Saturday Night ...if that's an outtake I can't wait to see what your submission was. Slightly amazing, is the couple a statue or real people?

It's a real couple who were sitting right where I wanted to shoot from. In the end, knowing they weren't going to move, and seeing what a great silhouette they made, I just moved back a bunch and added 'em to the image.

As to whether or not it's a better pic than the one I submitted -- well, the one thing I've learned for sure on this site is: who knows? The quality on this one is better than the other (this was shot with a 5 MP work camera and my submission was shot with my .7 MP personal camera) but I wasn't sure this pic was something that would speak to the audience here as much as what I ended up submitting.

I think if this was an outtake, you'll probably be at least in the running to win if your submission was anything like it.
I like it alot.

Everyone's shots look so good. I had everything planned this weekend to get some shots in so I could submit one. But my sister called and I found out she was at the hospital having her baby. Had my brain not been so scattered I would have submitted one of our little newborn angel.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Aren't babies wonderful subjects?

My score isn''t horrible, but it has been going down bit by bit since this morning (where I said to my husband in triumphant voice: See, I did post the right picture). Needless to say he was voting for one of my "outtakes". They are posted here:

out-takes

Now, if I could just refrain from submitting my post before I''m done I''d be all set. Anyway, comments are appreciated.

LOL -- Unless something drastic changes, then no, I won't even come close to winning -- looks like I "chose poorly."

gr8,

I like the rope -- but I bet you would have had at least one person say, "This isn't B&W, just shades of grey..." Well, duh! That's what B&W photography is -- otherwise it'd just be photocopies....

I also think the angle you shot the daisy from is cool and of the two bee shots, I like the landscape best -- gives you more of the texture and feel of the flower.

This is a great shot. Another great shot would have been a close up of the couples sillouette kissing aganst the building.
