I'm a peaceful person but I would kill any three of you and make a people suit to get out of that cold. That's how freakin' cold that is.

Just imagine what you'd feel if you saw your car like this on stepping out of your home to head to work

Better let it thaw out until spring. ROFL

Most scientists believe that "global warming" is actually a brief part of a pattern which leads to the next Ice Age, now about a couple thousand years overdue ...

You are making a good case for buying a car with an air-cooled engine.

Lowest recorded temp in Canada was -81C in Yukon during the early 1940's. That's without windchill folks.

I concur, in the North West Territories [northern canada, look at a map people!] it's almost the Arctic and it's only -50...unfortunately in one town a fire destroyed their power centre this week so now they have no electricity, hope they all have wood stoves!

-129F (-90C)...

The way to convert is: °C x 9/5 + 32 = °F

So...working backwards:

Farenheit to Celcius in negative #s:
-129 + 32 x 5/9 = -53.9 ° C

-90°C ==> -194°F ==> we'd be in the iceage. Brrr...

A couple of years ago, we were working for NewTel, the telephone company in Newfoundland and Labrador - now part of Aliant.

Here is a picture of a snow and ice entombed transmission tower and various voice and data microwave antennas. There was no practical access to the site other than by helicopter, which is why you can see the Bell Jet Ranger rotor blade in the shot.

Since there was nothing that could be done to restore the failed telephone services, photographs were taken to record the situation and ensure that the flight was not a total waste. The sun eventually solved the problem and service was restored.

You do not know cold and winter until you enjoy it firsthand in Canada - so why not come and visit us in the Great White North? It's warm by the fire and guests always can find a hot drink to take away the chill. LOL

Gotcha beat, General.

I had made an error earlier stating that the coldest temp. ever measured in canada was -81C. It was in fact -81F. That still tops the Ruskies, since that comes out to -62.7C.

Details at this site detailing how cold it was in Snag, Yukon on 3 Feb, 1947.

EDIT: I left a note with the article's author linked by GeneralE to study this in case they want to review their info.

Close
-129°F = -89.44°C

°C = (°F - 32) * (5/9)
°F = (9/5)°C + 32

You added 32° when you should have subtracted.

I can live with being 0.66 out...
