Thanks for the maps, printed them out as I'm know for easily getting lost. :) Looks like there's a lot of good stuff at Seattle Center, may try to get up there afterall. Will see what the morning brings. If it looks like we'll be up there around 8:00 I'll give you a call. Otherwise, expect to see us at the Paramount.

Thanks again! :)

Oh, and WTG on those killer scores. ;)

We can always head back to the Center later in the day to regroup...the weather isn't suppose to be that bad actually, and if the fountain is going, that makes for good photo-ops...the Center is a really cool place actually, and there is always something to do or see or eat or smell or touch or get stuck on your shoe...

Went there this afternoon.

Best of Show: Audi R8.

Bizarro Award: Ford Concept Truck.

Biggest disapointment: No Smart, no Tesla.

But a fun venue if you're into cars!

I'll probably meet you all at the Paramount. I NEED my beauty sleep!

ETA: I have a motorcycle date later in the day, so the Paramount will probably be it for me.

I really enjoyed meeting my fellow DPC'ers today for the Seattle GTG. Unfortunately, I wasn't inspired much as far as shooting goes. Here are a few select shots from this morning.

Monorail at Seattle Center

Super secret Paramount Theatre which is open for free tours to the public but not for photography. Color us lucky. I hope this isn't violating any copyrights.

An interesting shot from Pike Street.

Awesome shots L J. Would like to have come myself, but I didn't get off work until 8 this morning. By the time I showered, changed, rode the ferry/drove around it would likely have been noon or later. Glad you had a great time. Hopefully I can make the next one.

I just got back a minute ago and am leaving again in a bit..Had to push the reset button to see how my pictures are doing :-)

It was a lot of fun...Awesome shots LJ...it wasn't the best day for photo shoots, but it was still very nice meeting everyone.

Some of us are getting together tomorrow, but we are still unsure where...JB mentioned that the snow geese are back up around Mount Vernon/La Conner area. Maybe that is an idea? It was also brought up that maybe we could do a road trip to Leavenworth? Arboretum? Japanese Gardens?

Anyway, gonna get ready to go to Duke's...if anyone would care to do this again tomorrow, let me know K?

I think there is still a group going out tomorrow (Sunday) if you're available.
11/03/2007 08:17:14 PM · #159
Michael, my wife and I have to drive back to the east side of the state tomorrow after we get done shooting so a trip to Mt. Vernon or any further north I think will rule us out. I think Levenworth is actually on our way back home so if it was we'd definitely have to go on that. I'd like some nature shots but I don't know if the fall colors are out much anymore...

P.S. thanks for the comments on the photos. I uploaded a less oversharpened shot of the Paramount since I really overdid the first one I posted. The new (less sharp) photo is a little better.

K...I will push the idea of Leavenworth with the others if I can. Even if the colors are not out, it is still a beautiful area. Weather is suppose to be mixed on this side of the mountains, but partly to mostly sunny on the eastern side....

I will keep you posted as to what we do...maybe we could all just go to Snoqualmie Falls? That would be even more on your way home...

Woo! Nothing like 4 hours of driving for about an hour and half of GTG. :) Another classic "What was Jen thinking??" moment. Next time little man will be staying home with daddy. And now you tell me you're going to the zoo..... ;-)

But it was fun nonetheless, although I wish I would've gotten to meet more of you guys. But that was my bad. :)

I only have a few photos, mostly of the juggler as that was one thing that caught lil' mans attention for more than a second. and a couple from OUTSIDE the Paramount. Mason and I saw a lot of that. :)

Thanks again Michael ( Agaricus) for organzing. Hoping to spend more time shooting and chatting next time. :)

And Art Roflmao, Mason will be planning his lil' woody shoot shortly. I think he's named him Ted. Thank you! :)

Have fun tomorrow guys!

I don't know why my images are not coming out very sharp....I took this photo of the Seattle skyline and was freaking stunned by the image on the LCD only to get home and ask myself, why the hell is everything slightly blurry?

Jennifer, so sorry to hear you didn't have a good time. I know that would have been horrible on a young child. Heck, architecture tours can be horrible on adults!

Oh, don't get me wrong. I had a fine time. I just would have liked to stick around and socialize for a wee bit longer. :)

I like your skyline photo, but I have the same problem with focusing distances like that. There's got to be a trick to it. :)

Ray and I are about to brave the weather and head for Woodland Park Zoo.
Michael said he'll be there, too.

We're hoping that it will clear, and in the meantime we can sit around in some food place and chat, right?

Hopefully a few others will join us. See you there!

Sorry I couln't make it, sounded like a great time. I've been fighting cancer lately and just don't have the energy. My son went to the car show on Thursday with my super wide Sigma on his D40 and came up with this; 2007 Car Show
I shot at Benaroya Hall on Friday night for a benifit concert and he also posted some of those on his site; Concert

Hopefully I will feel better for the niext GTG.

It was fun meeting my fellow Pacific Northwest DPCers yesterday and shooting the theatre. Here are a couple of shots I liked. More in my portfolio.

Of course, if it's a clear day, you can always go up to Kerry Park in the Queen Anne neighborhood. That's where these were shot:

.

For twilight shots, it's best to get there 30 minutes or more before sunset and stay 60 minutes after sunset.

I travel to Seattle regularly (my company's HQ is in the area), so whenever you guys decide on future dates, there could be a chance I could attend.

Here are some of my shots from Saturday. I had fun and was sorry I had to run off early. I did get up to Kerry Park on my way out of town but the mountain never showed it's head. Wish I could have stuck around and gotten to know you all a little better and sure would of liked to have made the zoo today, but there is always next time!

BTW - do not attempt to run the slideshow on this smugmug page as I only uploaded small 640 pixel files, sorry.
