CrazyStripesss and I spent yesterday in Golden Gate Park at the free 40th Anniversary Summer of Love concert at Speedway Meadow -- More than 40,000 strong basking in the warmth of an unusually sunny day full of good vibes, good music and more than a little nostalgia. Canned Heat, Taj Mahal, Country Joe, the Rowan Brothers, New Riders of the Purple Sage, the Usual Suspects and many more entertained the crowd ... but the highlight was, of course, the crowd.

Here's a little taste of our day:

And a few more here:Summer of Love

Crops and level adjustments on some, then batch processing to get them down to 640px so I could share the day with you all. Comments and critiques appreciated, as always.

edit to fix linky

I have to say, I've never seen so much tie-dye on old people in one place in my whole life. Nor have i ever smelled that much drugs in my whole life. Either way I had a lot of fun taking pictures of all these silly people. Young people & old people hitting each other up for drugs. Mothers & daughters doing it together. Old people doing the "groovy dance" as my dad calls it [my dad included]. & a bunch of high school kids there just because they couldn't get in trouble for doing drugs in public. All in all... great fun =] now here's MY pictures.

Hey, I resemble that remark! FYI, I am a veteran of the ORIGINAL summer of love, lived in the Haight that year and part of the next, and went around bedecked in tie-dye...

Looks like y'all had fun :-)

Most enjoyable to look at.
There is nothing better than watching People having the time of their Life.

Cheers.
