Out of the top 15 favorite photographers of this site 3 are from Iceland!! Such a small country with great photographic talents.

And the rest are from all over the world! This is truly an international site. I wish that everyone here enters their location or country in their profile in order to get some statistics on how global DPC is.

not to mention they live in a beautifull land, with great landscapes, buildings and skies.

Judging from Larus' portfolio they also have the most beautiful people.

lol I grew up in Indy. Always tell everyone there's nothing in Indiana except: corn, soybeans, basketball, and auto racing.

No its just that they are so talented that when they see everyone elses pictures, they dont even compare to their images, so they vote them 1's and 2's

Or maybe long sustained presence of summer light followed by its long absence during winter gives them more appreciation of the light, which is the very essence of photography!!

What about the UK?? No-one from there?

yes, yes, yes, we are now a planetary consciousness. Nations? What are nations?

I think it would be cool if we had country statistics on this site.

I've always wondered which countries are represented. Of course some of them are obvious, but I would assume there are some that are not so in-your-face.

By the way... I've been to Iceland. Twice. Maybe I should have rolled around on the ground for some of that photographic talent to rub off on me. Or perhaps it only works if you're actually there when you're taking the photos. :op

Very close. I would say that to along with a lot of very talented photographers, Iceland has a very long period of permanent "golden light" which the rest of us only get for an hour after sunrise and for an hour before sunset. :)

Overall, it is likely more to do with the talent, they deserve every ribbon they have.

I don't see Holland anywhere in the list. Not to mention that I haven't seen some of my favourite dutch DPC-ers here for a while (or in a top 10)

I wonder what happenend to them
