I have a black and white outline of a house, with windows, doors, siding, etc. drawn on it. I have opened it in Photoshop Elements and I'm filling color into the outline. There's a section of the image that has a brick pattern on it, and I would like to fill in this entire area with a brick red color, but I still want the outlines of the bricks to be there too. I can figure out how to fill in each brick individually, but that takes forever because there's a lot of bricks. I can also figure out how to select the outline of the area and fill in the whole thing, but then I can't see the brick outlines anymore. Is there a way with Photoshop Elements to fill in a large area while leaveing the brick outlines visible? If not with Photoshop Elements, is there a better program? Thanks!

Been a while since I used elements, but can you fill in the red area on a new layer and reduce it's opacity and/or change it's blending mode?

copy the outline layer and move it to the top? Fill in the lower layer with the color. Use burn blend mode for the upper outline layer. I've never used elements, so I hope these things are available.
