Is there interest? Suggestions?

I've been looking for GTGs in my area...I'll be watching this develop. I'll be coming from the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie/Buffalo.

I would love a Toronto GTG. I travel there all the time for work and would enjoy a trip to meet fellow DPCers and shoot for fun and talk with people with the same interests. Sign me up.

Ooh, I may be interested, when?
08/27/2007 10:58:00 AM · #6
I might be interested, depends on the where and when.

I live in the GTA. I would be interested.

I am certainly open for suggestions as for where and when. Since we will want to have something of interest to shoot, I would suggest maybe Center Island? Does anyone else have any ideas?

What would you like to do at such a get together? (I have never been to one before)

As an FYI - I would come in from Buffalo, NY (actually south of Buffalo, but you get the idea for bridge crossing). Toronto seems reasonable for a day trip for me and Townley and we would consider an overnight to take advantage of the GTG if it was a weekend, like a Saturday to Sunday.

I'm a GTG virgin too...last half of October or early November, maybe? And anyone mind that I don't have a DSLR? I'd hate to be the only one with a P&S.

I'm in depending where and when. Don't worry about the DSLR thing, just bring what ya got and have fun.

I'll have my hubby and trio of munchkins with me - so I can only do someplace that is very family (read that as : child) friendly.

How long are most GTGs....a day? Two? I have a brother in TO so I can do a late week / weekend thing. I can see kashi's point on child -friendliness, good idea overall, but maybe also have other locales to go to (maybe around kids' bedtimes?) Also think in terms of logistics, ie if people are driving, is there a place to park? Public transit?

I would only go for an afternoon, maybe a full day - but I only live about an hour outside of Toronto.

i might be into this. the first half of september is a write-off for me though.
(up to 16th)

Yeah - pretty much all of September is out for me, as I'm moving mid-month.

Count me in. I would like shoot the fall leaves / moving water. Maybe an overnight somewhere (Sat Eve / Sun Morn).

I would possibly go on a weekend, it's only about a 4 hour drive and we have friends that live nearby. I'd love to meet Joey Lawrence, ask him to go, too.

I think Fall leaves start to change color near the 2nd half of September. Not exactly sure about Toronto.

Hey Guys..I'd be down for a GTG..but I gotta say..We Toronto DPCers seem to be unable to get it together..last GTG we had there were only 4 of us!! So we need someone to wrangle us all and make it work!

It seems like some new names here showing interest so thats cool...
The Islands are a GREAT suggestion..love it...count me in

I would be interested in this as well. I live in Mississauga, and wouldnt mind anything in Southern ON.

Anyone thought of any good dates/weekends?

The fall colours are going to be turning in about 5-6 weeks, and that might provide us some good opportunities.

Canadian Thanksgiving???

Sounds like we are homing in on the thanksgiving weekend (Sat Oct 6th and/or Sun Oct7th).

Do people have ideas on where to go / do / shoot ?

No more interest?

What about the weekend of Sept 27 to 30? The Markham Fair is on and offers a wide range to shooing options. They even have a beer tent!

Here are some photos from previous fairs
