Well I desided to venture a bit from my comfort zone and do some nudes, got a couple of models and took some very natural non erotic photos and these are the ones I like. They are far from perfect I know, but you have to start somewhere...! I was going for a kind of soft look in the later shoot and contrasty in the first one. Still have to go through half of the second one and give final photoshop touches so all thoughts and comments are welcome.
(I know I'm gona get comments on the cropping of this next one, have tried all kinds of crops but this one appeals to me the most)

| I can't quite look at the photos because I'm at work, I just wanted to make sure that the thread is easily found when I get home. I too have ventured into the nudity shots for the first time so I'm interested in seeing some of the comments that you get. |

Your eye for ranking seems about right. I like the top 3 quite a bit. The 4th isn't bad, although I sorta giggle at the gun (but that's just me). The 5th and 6th are awkward in their posing. The seventh is back to being good, although you can thank your stars you didn't enter them in rural landscape. Nudes hardly do well in portrait challenges... :P

Personally, I like #6...I think it it appears flat and awkward because it is in severe need of Contrast and Hue/Sat Boost. Use curves to bring in the highs/lows and bump the Sat to 18-24 and it starts to come to life.
To really go artsy run a Clarify and Skin smoothing after the contrast/Sat...You end up with a cold and calulated shot to match the models expression.

| Bottom two would have worked well in the backlight challenge. Like those the most out of the bunch. |

I'm still thinking the constrast should be boosted in the color shots. They seem somewhat flat in feel.
Everyone sees others work differently and it is sometimes hard to get in the head of a photog and know what look feel a photo is going for...
for example the second shot of the recent post converted from color to duotone... I envision that shot being color but cold in feeling because of the dark clouds in the reflection, the puddle and the rigid stare of the model. Something like this:
This is really artsy but I like the pose/expression/feel of the shot.
Simply a Highpass Sharpen, b/w layer @ 38% opacity, Clarify, Dodge/burn to really darken some areas and add mood, NR for skin smoothing.

Nice first attempt with some nice poses on the semi backlit shots - Just w a word for next time - Make sure the model has taken the labels off of her lingerie - It's quite viable and distracting in photo 2.

Guðbjörg, very nice first attempts, as your posing works well already. I think you will greatly enjoy finding your particular 'style'!!!
