Pretty bad, huh? It's not the normal spec here and there. I'm not even sure I want to attempt to fix this one in photoshop!

Mine was looking like that @ f/22 two weeks ago. A buddy brought in his Copperhill SensorSweep (brush) and after 1 cleaning I have just 2 dust bunnies visible in my shots at the aperture.
I was scared to death to touch the sensor but once I did it I'm thinking I will clean it regularly to avoid this in the future. |

I, too, know the feeling. This was SO much more than just sensor dust though and what pisses me off is that it was entire my fault!

No, I cleaned the sensor with the stuff they sell at Best Buy saying it's to clean electronics. Big mistake. Of course, I didn't realize this until I was on the trip. Turns out the alcohol had evaporated leaving all that water behind which then dried on the sensor. Thank goodness it came off very easily with Eclipse cause I was FREAKING out. I thought for sure I had ruined it. That camera served me for several months after that until I bought the 20D.
BTW, that was my Rebel.

Yea, it definitely cleaned up.
though it is time to be cleaned again.

How does a sensor get that dirty?
I shoot just about everyday and I have never had anything remotely close to that. Any dust Ive ever had I can take care of w/ a hurricane blower that I got for under $3. It takes me a few minutes and works perfect.

Ya, at F29, I'm sure anything will show up.
I usually shoot wide open. Then I shot at F13 and found how dirty my sensor was.
That reminds me, I still need to buy a cleaning kit.

| I'm glad to see you are posting some comments about my dirty lens (or sensor). And I'm glad to see that i'm not the only one out there willing to share. I think it helps remind us that it's a fixable problem, and we all need a little education on the subject. There are newbies out there that completely FREAK out when they see something like this occur to their camera. |

I just purchased Visible Dust's Arctic Butterfly 724 and it is amazing!
I had never cleaned my sensor before, and I was scared to death I'd screw it up. Piece of cake, and it works like a charm... |
