I've decided to finally venture out from only shooting friends and family, and do some free work for strangers. I found a lady on craigslist who wanted some maternity photos done, and I told her that I would do them for free just to gain the experience and have them for my portfolio and for advertising. She agreed to let me do them, and I would love to have some input on how I did! I was soooo nervous! I'll also be doing her
Labor & Delivery photos on the big day!

First thing i would say is that I am not fond of the black and white conversions. also numbers 3 and 4 are reversed or something becasue it looks like her wedding ring is on the wrong hand

My favorites are 9, 13, and 16. I'm not fond of the first set of tummy shots. For some reason, they just appear awkward to me.

lol..well my husband and I disagree. I like the black and white conversions. the duotone on number 2 more than the straight black and white though. numbers 2 and 14 are my favorites. I don't like number 8 though. It's like you caught her fussing with her dress. Overall nicely done. I'll have my first maternity shoot soon most likely and I'm scared/nervous out of my mind.. Good job.

^ Ok, he's nuts. :-P

I prefer the black and white versions to every one that has one except #6.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I really appreciate it. I didn't even notice the ring boo boo on number 3 and 4...it didn't even occur to me! Thank you so much for pointing that out! As far as the b&w conversions, I think that's something that everyone has different tastes on. Some people lack any contrast at all, and others take the term black & white very literally, leaving little grayscale whatsoever. The good news is that I've already shown the couple most of the shots, and they love all of them! Yay!

Hmmmm...ok. I would appreciate it if we would keep the comments about the photographic work and not the clients...thanks.

The first one that jumped out at me was number 9 - they look so in love! I adore photos where the emotion really comes through.

Nice job! I just did my first maternity shoot in March and it was fun! I wish you luck into the future!

i LOVE number ten and number 13. The only issue I see with these is her facial expression, she looks unsure/frightened in the shots where she is looking at the camera. when i do when im trying to get a person to be smilie and natural is just talk to them and tell them to do a really big smile and then laugh and be like ok go to normal now and then that face is normally much more natural and comfortable. you did great post processing on the black and whites

#8 is my favorite.

I totally agree about the facial expressions, especially on the husband. The wife is a professional photographer herself, so I felt a little uncomfortable "coaching" her on how to pose. But, I guess what they say is true...being a photographer doesn't make you a good model! I think she is beautiful, though!! A very cute preggo woman, too! Thanks for all the great comments guys!
