It's been ages since the last one (GTG 9 in Jan), so it's about time we had another GTG! Also, as myself and chiqui are in the process of emmigrating to the USA, this will be the last one we'll be organising here, and because of that, I'm open to suggestions for places within easy travelling from London as well - a bit of variation is good!

Sooo.... who's up for another GTG? :o)

Date: Sun Sept 9 - M, CH, LB, SM, DM, MP, MK, K, MAK, HA, DD, WL, SM?, OB?, GL

M - Manic
CH - Chiqui
LB - Matthew
SM - SalMiakki
DM - DainMcgowan
MP - Mr_Pants
MK - MilesKea - not coming
K - Konador - chicken :)
MAK - MAK
HA - Hanae
DD - DpDave
WL - Wetlands
SM? - SpazMo99 (?)
OB? - Obsidian
GL - Gloda

Location (in London):

Regents Canal / Little Venice (final meeting point to be determined)

-----

FINAL PLAN:

The Meeting Place:

Warwick Castle pub (6 Warwick Place, W9 2PX) - map - nearest tube is Warwick Avenue on the Bakerloo line.

The Time:

12:30pm Sunday 9th, but I'll try to be there from midday to get enough seats for us all.

The Plan:

Walk from the pub via Little Venice, heading along the canal to either Regents Park or Camden.

I've also PM'd this to everyone, along with my mobile number.

Excellent idea.

I am not around on 11/12 August (my wedding anniversary), but would be interested in the other dates.

Are we going to include locations South of the River in the list as *really* being in London?

I would definitely be interested if it's the 8/9 sept, as I will be in London that weekend. I may be able to do other weekends also.

Wow, that's a heck of a lot of weddings! Must be good for the bank balance though... unless you spend it all on new camera gear? ;)

Can't be that good for the bank balance - think of the cost of fitting in a divorce between each one.

Oh, you mean you're photographing them.

I won't be in the UK until the beginning of October. :(

Anyone for a meetup in Aberfoyle on Oct 6?

Good luck the the GTG. As always, I'm sure it will be a success.

I'm in town on the 18th/19th so you might want to avoid that weekend ; )

Might be interested, but no idea what my summer plans are yet. When a dates set, I'll see.

For preference, not the weekends of 11th August or 25th August for me. I'll be at another GTG on the 11th (all welcome) and on holiday on the BH weekend.

Sorry to sound dumb but what does GTG mean?! lol I am new round here, would like to know more about this?
07/19/2007 03:55:51 PM · #14
Love to come along but this is one I will have to watch. Cannot do 11/12 August for sure (my birthday :-) and with my daughter moving to London to do a masters... I have no idea what is happening when!

BTW - what about Oxford? Just a thought but plenty of things to photograph there...
07/19/2007 03:56:23 PM · #15
What about coming down to Windsor for the GTG? You have the castle, with the changing of the guards, the River Thames and Windsor Great Park.

A GTG is a Get ToGether, basically just a day out shooting with a whole bunch of other DPCers. It's open to anyone who wants to come, and we usually try to get a date & location that the most people can get to.

Anyone else interested? I'll start compiling the list of dates that folks can make, see which are the most popular...

Hi Ladies and Gents,
I would be up for the GTG, i have a couple of things planned office move on the Aug 18/19 , and my 10th wedding anniversary on Sept 8/9.
As for locations I'm easy, Stonehenge is good but a little limited, unless we can get a private viewing, which would be cool.

When do you head across the pond Manic?

A GTG sounds like a hoot - I've not done one before.

Most of August is out for me but any other time is good. As to location anywhere works.

Having visited London a few weeks ago on the Megabus for... £1 (!!!) I'd be up for any of those days (I think) if details are finalised enough in advance for me to book and sort everything out - so the later the better really as I'm going away on holiday for 2 weeks tomorrow.

Hi All,

Is anyone heading to the RedBull Air Race this coming weekend in London. I've just posed the question to them on any camera / lens restrictions. I was thinking about hiring a long lens for the day.
