Used to be, I'd tap the multi-directional controller in shooting mode and the AF spot would move around. Now it doesn't move at all.

I suspect I changed some setting, but I can't figure it out.

Anyone know what to change?

Thanks!

I dont know about a D200, but with my D40 I can only change the focus point in certain shooting modes (i.e. I cant change it when I am shooting in full Auto, but can change it when I am in Shutter priority mode)

Make sure the little white line on the circle just outside the multidirectional controller didn't get moved to L. That locks focus where its at.

The same happens to me when I changed this control in my D70. I was so frustrated. But finally I read the manual and fixed it.

Probably the D200 have the same option.

Aaaaannnnnd we have a winner. Thanks, Joe! :)

Oh, and you, too, Cristian - the lock's different, but the concept is the same.

And thanks to you, too, Matt.

LMAO and how long have you had your D70? Im not sure if its just for the focus points but if its anything like My Canon EOS Elan it locks up the back control wheel.

Had it 2 1/2 years and have about 20,000 pictures! I know just about everything but I never had the "urge" to look up what that switch was for.
