Judi, I am at work at the moment - I have pm'd you, but not sure if it will arrive due to the various security bits we have in place. I shall resend my details when I get home tonight.

I'd like to have a turn around the block with Peregrine at some point as well, please... the steam clock with him perched upon it or the vista from Grouse Mountain would be perfect (Vancouver, BC)

Yay, guess who has arrived in York, England? He was desperate to climb out of his box:

I just realized that it is possible that Peregrine might make it to me it time for the Florida Keys and Key West GTG from Octoer 2nd through the 9th.

There are two more hosts on the list before he makes his trip to Miami and if there is no delay he might be able to join us for the GTG as the guest of honor.

Let's see if we can make this happen.

edit to add - - - I just noticed that idnic is right behind me on the list so since she will be attending this GTG also, she can take him back home with her.

That sounds fun, yakatme. And your GTG is lasting whole week? wow.

Count me in as well. I don't know where I'll be exactly yet, though. Probably Madrid.

By the way, this reminds me of the movie "Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain" (in English either "The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain" or "Amelie from Montmartre", //www.imdb.com/title/tt0211915). If you haven't seen it yet, go and watch it. Seriously, you'll like it. ;)

Ah. I don't think he can be scheduled in that way.

Well, I had asked back on the 14th to be added to the list, but I see others that asked after me added, so at this point... count me out.

Despite suffering from jet lag, Peregrine got up very early this morning and went to see the sunrise over York Minster.

He has now gone back to bed to try and catchup on his sleep as tomorrow he is going to the Lake District for a couple of days.

A couple more photos from yesterday's visit to York Minster.

We are just leaving for a two day visit to the Lake District. I shall check in briefly on Wednesday afternoon, before we travel down to Cambridge to pick up eldest daughter, and then on to Norfolk for a couple of days. Back in York on Saturday night.

Nah... I'll let yakatme and idnic keep the glory for Florida all by themselves. Next time, I'll just PM ya to death until I'm added. ;)

Just checking in mid-travels. We had a fantastic couple of days in the Lake District, and are now heading down to Cambridge, and then on to Norfolk tomorrow.

Only time to process a couple. Here is Peregrine at Wastwater, one of the most remote of the Lakes.

It's great that you could take him around the whole country, Sara, but you didn't really need to go out of your way that much. ;-)
I look forward to more pics of him.

Back in York! Here are some more photos from Pergrine's Lake District adventures:

Other than the sheep grazed hillsides, there wasn't a single sign of man's intervention. Peregrine certainly needed a rest after climbing up here!

Later that morning he came across a Stone Circle, and was intrigued as to why the ancient Britons built such structures in such very remote places.

We drove over the Hard Knott Pass, which at 1:3 is the steepest road in Britain. It would be hard enough work if it was straight, but it is a single-track road that zig-zags - the engine certainly needed a rest at the top! On the way down, the road disappears from view completely as the car swings out on the zig, before coming back into view on the zag. Peregrine celebrated surviving the journey... .

On the final day we took a trip to the zoo. Peregrine was too scared to have his photo taken next to the BIG tiger, but was much more confident near the giraffes!

Where has Peregrine gone?
