And, I think you missed my point; I am proud to be free, but how do I zoom out? I am who I am, not confined by any branding.

Obviously, that is not an actual quote of yours, but every word in it was said by you, either in this thread or in one of your last ten. :)

Whilst I agree with you in general principle, people say what they say, I think it is obvious that if you are recording every word that is said by someone over the course of days/weeks, then "innocently" drop it somewhere where the context has completely changed, it becomes much stronger.

I'm reminded of something I saw one time where they were interviewing people on the streets. Ask person A one question, then let person B answer. However, person B was asked a completely different question, so now the answer, while it appears to "fit," wasn't what person B would have said in that context at all.

Kinda like the game MadLibs.

Have you ever watched films where it has been edited to remove curse words or been dubbed over to another language? Even if the actor in question said the words that are being pasted into a new place it won't look or sound natural. At best the editor can omit parts of the conversation that give it context but that's about it. Unless of course the actors themselves are engaged in the ruse that is they re-act the parts with the new dialogue.

It's more subtle and insidious than replacing a word though. The context is what gets messed with, not individual words. Reality TV seems to be entirely about that, to make the 'reality' match the script they are working from (and they are almost always working from a script for the final production)

That's not what was being suggested. The hypothesis here is ask questions A and B of person X, then cut/remix so person X seems to be answering question A with what is actually his answer to question B.

A good example is those Coors ads during football games where they show "reporters" firing beer-related questions at coaches, and the coaches are giving football-related answers that seem to "fit" the beer questions.

Oh! Or like those 'interviews' that Jay Leno used to do/still does using footage of a real press conference but where he's asking ridiculous questions instead?

Anyone know if this is on TV in Canada? I don't see it in my local listings. I would even take a YouTube link to watch it. I really wanted to see it but it looks like it is a US only thing.

I'm hoping to find a torrent or something. I might even be willing to pay for an iTunes subscription, but it doesn't appear to be there.

I don't know if anyone has looked at the The Shot: Episode 1 Extras but if you haven't, click on the link and click on Episode 1 Extras.

For those looking to see the show I just watched it off of vh1. when you get to the pop up player for highlights above, click on "show menu" tab.
The find the show "the shot". then the one that says higlights with 15 vid clips. Its there under the clip "meeting everyone". Should be good to watch the whole thing I think.

Missed it on tv last night, but watched it on the web earlier. What a first assignment! I'm trying to remember if I met any of them in the waiting room at the audition. A couple people look familiar, but it's been a while now so I can't remember.

Too bad we didn't get any well known DPC'ers on the show. It would have made the show more "real" for me, and more fun to watch.

If you mean Dean, yes he did. He's been cast as the a$$hole of the group.

Though from watching it, he seems to have cast himself that way.

We're talking about "Male Model, Male Model" right?

So, did anyone but me chuckle intensely when the blonde girl was trying to zoom the prime lens?

BTW, my money is on the redhead girl.

Yeah, sure, but THEY put him on the show, THEY "cast" him, THEY knew just what they were getting. Every one of these reality shows has an a$$hole, and every one of them was intentionally selected to fill that slot.
