or a little vaseline on the sensor, so things don't looked scratched, just OoF.

dirty up the contacts so the lens can't talk to the camera, they'll have to get it fixed and lose jobby jobs.
put animal fat in their lights so when it heats up it smells like bacon.
I'll think of others...

How about the "innocent but deadly" approach?

Start off asking everyone questions like ... So what's an ISO anyway? (only say it IS-OH) Or, just gush over how much you like the [P] mode on your camera and how the camera takes the best pictures and then point to one of theirs and say, "Oh, look at the camera you have, I bet you take good pictures too!".

Then, when it comes time to doing the real stuff, blow 'em away. :-)

Be careful, don't tell Cindi what you're up to....

I'm glad my original post was able to make so many people happy, and to actually get those same people off their talented butts and show the world what you can do.

Good luck to all.

Well, what the hell. I'm going to apply, too. I mean, a chance to meet idnic and escapetooz AND shannonlee for real? How could I pass that up? :)

Of course, they may not be interested in 40-year-old guys, only good lookin' wimmen.

Heh. Now I know why you got auditions. :)

Here's what I submitted.

I figured since they're going for fashion photography, they wouldn't be interested in some of my other stuff.

May I suggest a few thoughts for these auditions.

IN GENERAL: This is a "job" opening, and you have to compete against prolly hundreds of other contestants. Use eye contact. Don't be nervous. Talk clearly. Know your work. BE confident.

Producers are looking for a few people that will make, and not break the show. They want personalities that will eventually make viewers come back for more. This is the time to put some of those acting skill to work. We all have them. Remember the time you called in sick to work? Show the producers who you are by putting yourself in as a 'character'.

Don't chew gum, or tobacco and don't light up a cigarette.

Talk to these producers like they are your best friend, not like they are some God.

Be relaxed, and "as a matter of fact".

WOMEN: Don't put on a lot of makeup or perfume. Don't wear too flashy clothes, but dress comfortably, and presentably. You want to make an impression, but you don't want that impression to become an 'out take' for the worst auditions. If you wear high heels, make sure you can walk in them.

MEN
: Don't wear torn anything. Don't let your body noises interfere with the interview. Wear some decent cloths. Buy a sports jacket. Look hip. Actually read GQ magazine to get some tips in this area.

Don't smack anyone on the back side. Shake hands firmly, not tightly, or like a wet noodle. If you wear jeans, make sure they are not stained, or frayed. Ties are too much, stay comfortable. Get a hair cut, shave the back of your neck while your at it.

OVER ALL: I can not stress enough. This is no different than a job interview. You are not a professional actor, so remember this.

Again, you want to make an impression, so do what is necessary to present your self. You will be competing, so compete. Be prepared, have every thing that the producers ask of you ready. Don't make them wait.

Go in, present, leave. Then it's just a waiting game from there.

Good luck to all.

I do appreaciate the post, Thomas. I applied on Wednesday, got an email back on Thursday, responded on Friday, got a call from Sam Rhima on Friday, made a video on Saturday, filled out a 3 page questionaire on Sunday, printed sample images on Sunday and sent them by overnight shipping on Monday for Tuesday delivery.... even if I never hear back from them, its been a fun few days. :)

Edit pathetic typing late in the evening. :P

OMG, This show better be still running in 2 years! I wanna try out so bad >.< Oh well I guess this will give me time to improve my skills to get ahead of the competition, lol. I'll be moving down to San Diego in 2008, that's close enough right? I'm not too fond of LA so there's no way I'd move there for a reality TV show, but hey ya never know, I'll have to see where I'm at in 2 years :D

Thanks Thomas. All sounds very correct and what I've been telling myself. Now its a matter of implimenting theory into reality.

I'm a nervous, shy person by nature. Not good at small talk... turns to nervous chatter or head nodding.

Not so interesting for TV. lol.

ya. thanks thomas! thats really great info! now i can blame you if i dont get the spot ;). i replied to the email and asked if i could audition friday... they wanted thursday, but that would require me leaving a day early for my trip to LA. we'll see what they say about friday. if not, then i might try and make it on thursday. would you look at me... little miss diva already... making them work around MYYYY schedule ;) hah i joke.
