It has to do with the angle you hold your camera at relative to the flower; the plane of focus is always parallel to the lens surface, and at macro distances major changes in location of the plane of sharpness can be effected by altering the angle at which you hold your camera. Some cropping will be needed if you want to maintain same POV and alter the angle.

Just got back from the doctors office. A scheduled visit for my blood test after my cancer major prostrate surgery. He got right to it. Told me I didn't have any more cancer and my PSA levels were way down. When I was leaving he said, your a good man John. I can't wipe this foolish grin off my face, how embarrassing.

This is excellent news J! Is there such a thing as a foolish grin? I imagine you feel like doing some sort of happy dance..goodness knows I would! I say go for it.
