It's not just the haunting dark portrait. It's not just the daring composition. It's some kind of black magic that makes it all work together.

My blue ribboner, too. :)

Is Determination an emotion?

it is in my book. :) People do speak of how they "feel determined" or "feel a strong determination" to do something.

Possibly. But whatever indeterminate feeling is prompted by the knowledge that the hands of time are bunched into fists certainly is.

hey

Thanks 'iamwoman'.
This is my first entry at DPC and I get mentioned here.
Thank you all for your comments.

Thanks for the blue posthumous! Very much appreciate my work being appreciated. It was interesting for me to see the range of comments on the photo, particularly about the blurry stoplight in the foreground. It seems it made the photo for some (me included, I likely wouldn't have given it a second look off the card without it) and completely ruined it for others. I am actually surprised that the score here on dpc is as high as it is. In hindsight, I should have asked her to jump in the air...

Or at least have her hold a flower with an insect on it - GRIN!

LOL -- I wanted to take a high-angle shot myself from work, but ended up using something else instead.

What is a Posthumous ribbon?

Judi Thanks for the nomination, I got a bunch of great comments and a few that said that I stretched meaning of the challenge! Regardless, I'm honered to be nominated!

As described in the first post in the thread, it's a personal ribbon. People post here what their favorite three entries were from challenges that have just finished voting. It's a way of applauding shots you loved even if they didn't actually win ribbons.

If you decide to participate, please be sure to send a PM to the folks whose images you name.
