Tell me about it.

You guys are right, I should have posted to a new thread to get answers to my question. Sorry I pissed in your cornflakes. I am sure no one else has ever done this.

Wonderful!!!
The passive top left little boy gives to the composition the subtle contrast that makes this photo work in a agreeable tension. An excellent example of what a candid shot should be. I can stay here for a while, with pleasure, just watching the boys playing.

it is my opinion that this is one of the better images to grace DPC in a while.

like I said, I wish more family albums were filled with images like this.

WoooW!

This thing really really really fired me up when I got the email from De Sousa this morning.

I have been having an awfull time taking pictures for the DPL and my scores have reflected it.

Been trying to score above my average but not being able!

So it's been hard but this Posthumous ribbon really made me happy someone was actually impressed with my work and that makes you wan't to move on!

Thanx you guys both De Sousa and Posthumous.

This thing really made a difference

Two images I really liked in the Candid challenge are:
- my fav of the challenge btw,

and

217th and 170th respectively. One of the hardest things on DPC is reconciling your personal taste with the taste of the voters. Which is right? Both obviously, as they are really answers to 2 different questions.

That said, I really like efforts that are trying to expand our ideas about photography and taking chances - those types of shots rarely get rewarded in challenge scores.. that's a fact of life. Here's such a shot from transitions

Well, I'm certainly with ya Magen on this one :) That's "my" little Abby. My daughter-in-law, Bre, is a professional photographer, and only has time to enter challenges every once in a while. I was thumbing thru the candid challenge results and there this photo was. Jumped right out at me and melted my heart :) I didn't even know she had entered that challenge. Bre is AWESOME at photographing people in creative, striking, FUN poses! Her portraits and weddings are amazing!

this is awesome
that wide angle of his sure serves him well, one of my favorite photographers on the site
constantly producing solid images that keep getting tossed off the conveyor belt.

De Sousa, have a good look around Matt's portfolio.
take extra note to his challenge submisions and how high they fly over peoples heads.

just a few i picked out.

look carefully

i know this was a free study but, wow

i guess this threads not really for this but we just need more people like matt to be active on here.

Backsides Challenge

I thought that this would do better than what it did but I had a good time shooting it and my dad was in town helping me so in my heart this is a winner reguardless of where it placed.

i thought this thread was about showing our favourite pictures from this week's challenges, not our own pics.
unless, your own picture is your top pick from the challenge of course ;)

What is really ridiculous is the three 1 votes you got on this. How can anyone justify a one?

Joe, it was a great shot, it met the challenge, had good artistic ability and brought a smile and a laugh when I saw it. Maybe if it wasn't in a DPL week you would have scored higher! (Ducking under the table now)

I skipped the backsides challenge, but just looking at the ones y'all picked out is inspiring! Those are beautiful shots and I can tell just from the thumbnails.

And not only that, check out the yellow ribbon for backsides! There is hope for this site after all!
