...or a different color. A lot of the time a photographer will comment on his or her own photo, same as everyone else. Sometimes, though, they put valuable information on how they shot the photo in these comments, rather than explaining it in the large box below the photo itself. So, if the photographer has posted a comment on his own photo, it will stand out and be very easy to catch.

Maybe we should be able to pick which color our comments show up as, I mean as long as they are different than the standard user colors it should stand out Right?

I would also prefer that the self comments didn't count on the comments recieved/given totals.

OH OH...I like this idea. Then I would know who knew what they were talking about and who didn't!!!

I like this idea also, and the OP idea very much.

Ditto!

As for the original idea that prompted this thread, I like the general idea but agree that red may be too strong.

Or, we could make a really convienient box, set aside from the regular comments section and title it "Photographer's comments" ...

DOH...forgot to add my *wink* and a *smile*

So the vote is yes? How do we act on this?

Really? I've checked every possible "comment received" as helpful, but the two numbers still don't match in my stats. I thought the difference was because of my own comments on my photos.

Yes, and bribe him/her with photography equipment. ;)

Why?

Your username and the ability to edit the comment should tip you off which comment is yours shouldn't it?

Not highlighting your comments. Highlight the author's comments.

I have an idea - what if you could right-click any username, and it would dynamically highlight that person's comments, whether in the image view, or in the forum. Gee, that'd be worth a 5D at least!! Alright, maybe just a 24-105 f/4L IS USM...

edit: waiting for someone to say - just hit CTRL-F in firefox...

I think I need to learn to read . ;o)

Maybe just highlight their username on the left or add some identifying icon rather than highlighting the entire comment. Highlighting the entire comment could be pretty intrusive, also could be illegible depending on the font/colour used.
