red eye :

1) select the red part, with circle selection tool or with lasso tool.
2) choose via menu : select, feather, and then enter 3 pixels (depending on resolution)
3) then go to hue/saturation adjustment, bring down saturation, maybe change hue or lightness a bit (avoid deep black, looks unnatural)

done

Don't forget to check out this tutorial to help deal with the "people in the background".

This method is the easiest way of getting red eye's and leaving the natural look intact aswell.
Its really easy to do in PhotoShop.

1). Zoom in and select the red part with the circular selection tool.
2). Go to the channels palette and click on each chanel seperately and see in which channel the selected section looks darker. This is usually the green or blue channel.
3). Now copy the darker channel and paste it onto the other two remaning channels without deselcting ! - **EXCEPT the RGB channel**!!!!
4). Now unselect, Zoom out and check it out.

With this method the white in the eye is not lost and it looks natural.
You can experimnt with different channels and see which you like best.
If you want you may mail me the pic and I can do it for you.
And to blur the people in the background you can use the tutorial that Lhall has recomended.
Cheers.
