Ive been away from DPC for a while but during that time I managed to take some cool pics showing what i did during that whole time I was gone. I was hired to document an environmentalist group called Sea Shepherd as they tried to save endangered species of whales in the Antartic Ocean. After that I took a month long trip through the land down under starting in Melbourne and culminating in Cairns. I had an amazing time. Most of the pictures on the link are from the time on the Sea Shepherd boat since that was the most incredible part of the trip. Enjoy the show.

Go to the link below to see some pix of my trek through the southern hemisphere. Chile South America, Antartica, Melbourne and a little road trip up the east coast of Australia to Cairnes. 3 very crazy months. Also check out the podcasts posted about our encounters in the Antartic Ocean. //www.whalesafebeer.com.au under podcasts. I worked on episodes 5,6 & 7. Watch them in that order.

DPC makes value judgements about the quality of your work based on the current week's challenge topic. Keep that clearly in mind should you think about submiting any of the images you captured for a particular week or for a particular year. :)

But don't ever let DPC scores or opinions, good or bad, define how you take or share photographs.

Ooops.. I actually did think about seeing who was from Australia and trying to meet up, but our road trip was well a road trip. It was a little improvised and sometimes careless. I really liked it out there, it was quite amazing! I absailed, surfed, skated, whitewater rated, went scuba diving.. it was an amazing time! Its a great 'little' island. I say little cause it had the feeling of a small town. A lot of the folks we met were amazingly nice.
